Humans surviving on Mars is not all that likely... yet. But The Martian explores this possibility and apparently does a pretty damn good job at it. Matt Damon decides he'll "have to science the shit out of this" as it relates to the film, but it appears the science lives up.

At least that's according to an ACTUAL astronaut, Rick Mastracchio. Check out his since-deleted Tweet (probably for legal reasons?) below...

"Just prescreened and thought it was fantastic. Highly recommend checking it out when it hits the theaters." - AstroRM (September 15, 2015)

Here's Mastracchio below... yeah, he's legit.

And this movie should be too! It's got a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, which shows the critics consensus is pretty damn good.

Directed by Ridley Scott and based on the 2011 book of the same title by Andy Weir, The Martian arrives in cinemas on October 2nd.
