Comedian Tracy Morgan made his emotional return to the spotlight last night, giving a heartfelt speech at Emmy Awards Show in which he thanked those who made it possible for him to walk back on stage "standing on my own two feet."
Thanks to my amazing doctors, I’m here. God bless you all for your love and prayers and positive thoughts over the past 15 months. I’m honored to be here at the Emmys. It’s been a long road back.
In true Tracy Morgan style, the 30 Rock star brought some light-hearted levity to the occasion, joking that:
I suffered a traumatic brain injury that put me in a coma for eight days, and when I regained consciousness I was ecstatic to learn I wasn’t the one who messed up.

They say that tragedy plus time equals comedy, but it really hasn't been all that long since Morgan was in critical condition, following a devastating car accident that killed co-passenger and fellow comic James “Jimmy Mack” McNair.
The semi truck that collided with the comics' limo was driven by a sleep-deprived Wallmart employee who Morgan has since sued for damages. The crash left him with a broken leg and femur, broken nose, and several broken ribs, so it was somewhat of a miracle to see him standing tall and proud on that stage.
Better yet, Tracy already seemed back to his old self, telling the Microsoft Theater audience:
Only recently have I started to feel like myself again, which means a whole lot of women are going to get pregnant at the afterparty.
All I can say is that it's great to have him back.
