Hey guys! Following the community's positive response to how much fun the 5daymoviechallenge and [](tag:3531387) have been, I thought I'd set up another way for us to share our collective knowledge and mutual passion for movies and TV! With this challenge, we'll also be rewarded with each others' amazing TV and movie recommendations because your mission, should you choose to accept it, is all about your recommendations!

5 Day Recommendation Challenge:

  • Day 1: Recommend a 90s Comedy (TV or Movie)
  • Day 2: Recommend a Cult Movie
  • Day 3: Recommend a TV Series That Ended Before its Time
  • Day 4: Recommend a Movie That Got Critically Panned
  • Day 5: Recommend a Comic Book Movie (that isn't Marvel or DC!)

Post your recommendation and why, and then tag 5 members of the Moviepilot community each time you post a recommendation! If you've got any questions, let me know in the comments or contact me at [email protected]

Remember, your recommendations can be as in-depth or brief as you like, as long as you have fun posting it! Now, its time for my very first recommendation...

Day 1: Heres Why You Should See 90s TV Comedy 'Spaced'

I'll go ahead and assume that a huge amount of the Moviepilot family loves Edgar Wright's Cornetto trilogy - particularly the great zom-rom-com, Shaun of the Dead. There is something so likeable about Wright's continuing team-ups with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Each movie has consistently brought the best out of the trio, and their chemistry has resulted in high quality comedy ever since their humble beginnings on UK's Channel 4. This is why my recommendation for a 90s comedy can only be the unbelievably enjoyable TV series, Spaced.

Friends Tim and Daisy, 20-something North Londoners with uncertain futures, must pretend to be a couple to live in the only apartment they can afford.

The show has the unconventional editing, witty dialogue and likeability we've come to expect from the Cornetto trilogy's team, but Spaced is also jam-packed with great jokes about the pop culture we all love so dearly. The show stars a wannabe comic book artist and an aspiring writer, focusing on their day-to-day lives. Their lives often comment on or parody the likes of Resident Evil 2, The Matrix, Star Wars and many other amazing fandoms.

Here's a taste of Tim's thoughts on The Phantom Menace (views almost certainly shared with Simon Pegg and the rest of the Cornetto team!)...

It is hard to think of a current show that has so much to offer from such little resources. Spaced is a must-see for anybody with a sense of humor and a love for movies - so I know that many Moviepilot creators will adore this show, if they don't already!

To get the ball rolling, I'm tagging [Adonis Gonzalez](user:228601), [Shadan Syed](user:1564998), [Rosalyn Lim 林惠美](user:2241222), [Karina Thyra II](user:2235598), [David Espinosa](user:1388193), [Sean Bailey](user:1261153), [Stelios Mitrousis](user:1253802), [Jamil Wright](user:416050), [Jasmyn Spann](user:1222810) and [Julian Gerdes](user:2520936) .
