Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials may have just been released this past weekend, but our minds are already focused on The Death Cure.
After visiting MTV News in New York, actors Dylan O'Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Rosa Salazar, Dexter Darden, Ki Hong Lee, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Jacob Lofland, and Alexander Flores dropped some heavy hints about life as a Glader post-Scorch survival.
WARNING! The following video includes spoilers for Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials
Dylan O'Brien straight up gives us the time and location for the third film:
“In the book, they go to Denver. There will be a passage of time, whereas the first two you can watch as a double feature.”
The film will also detail the characters' individual journey in how they cope with the tragedy and trauma that came with overcoming the Scorch.
Scodelario discusses her character Teresa's decision to betray her fellow Gladers in the Scorch, and how she hopes to understand her actions even more in The Death Cure.
“For me, the third one is all about me trying to understand why she made the choices she makes at the end of the second one. So I’m really excited to see the WCKD environment, to learn more about how it started, where it came from, and what their morals were when they first founded this organization.”
Salazar, who plays the character Brenda, discusses how in between films, her character would probably be focusing on dealing with her illness.
Dylan O'Brien is looking forward to portraying a more heated and vengeful Thomas, as compared to the young and fresh-faced boy he used to be.
I personally can't wait to see the characters evolve as they cope with major changes in their lives post surviving the Scorch.
I am also frankly a little afraid of what a tortured Thomas is capable of...but i suppose we are going to have to wait until February 2017 to find out!
