If the Five Nights At Freddy's games are known for anything other than jump-scares and YouTube popularity, it's the frequency at which the games come out. Scott Cawthon, the creator of the FNAF games, released the first game on August 8, 2014, and the sequel came out only a few months later, on November 10, 2014. It's been just over a year since the first game, and the series already has four installments, not to mention a movie in the works.
Of course, seeing as the fourth game came out two months ago, Scott must be hard at work on the next game in the series right? When is Five Nights at Freddy's 5 going to come out? Well, there is a new game in the works, but it's not FNAF 5. It is instead a roleplaying game titled FNAF World.
In the game, you will compose a party of animatronics, including the shadow and nightmare versions from the later installments. Not much is known on the project yet, as Scott has only recently revealed that he was working on the designs for the characters.
Scott has also made it clear that FNAF World is not a direct sequel to FNAF 4. In fact, it looks like we are never going to see a fifth installment to the story. Scott has revealed that the fourth game is in fact the end to the story, and that's why he has taken the opportunity to work on a FNAF game that deviates from the normal playing style of the game.
"I wanted to use these characters in a new and fun way because they are so near and dear to my heart, and I was excited to work on a type of game that I hadn't made in a long time."
An update for Five Nights at Freddy's 4 is coming on Halloween, which is set to wrap up the traumatic and horrific story of Freddy and the animatronic gang. FNAF World has yet to get a release date, but it will debut on PC, Android, and iOS devices.
