I am a huge fan of Tim Burton and totally love the creative fan art which has risen up from the seeds planted by his movies.
When my friend, burlesque dancer Kitten Von Mew, got in touch sharing her recent creation with me, I just knew that I had to feature it. You may think of the Corpse Bride as more of a Halloween costume, but Kitten worked her magic. Kitten turned the spooky outfit into a breathtaking Burton-inspired wedding dress and added her own unique twist to the design.
It all began when Kitten made herself a Corpse Bride Halloween costume, complete with ribs
A lovely bride-to-be named Mira got in touch after seeing the dress and asked if Kitten could conjure up a similar dress for the bride's special day
Kitten set to work to piece together the unique outfit.
''I sprayed the bouquet with enamel paint, added jewels, covered wire and antique lace before adding hand painted accents.''
Corpse Bride wedding veil
''I made this out of natural muslin and sprayed and hand painted it.''
Finishing the dress
Take a look at the stunning detail!
Almost ready for the big day...
''Let's all give out a cheer cause the bride is getting married today! Hurray!''
''Oh! Here she comes. Oh, look! It's her!''
''Wedding, a wedding, we're going to have a wedding, a wedding!''
''With this hand I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never be empty, for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way into darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine.''
