What if I told you that this year holds a lot more in store for us than you had expected? Despite the tremendously hyped upcoming movies (including Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, Spectre and Star Wars: The Force Awakens) there are movies that have the potential to be equally good and entertaining. If you thought that the fun was over, you were wrong!

5. Creed - November 25, 2015

Adonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan) never knew his famous father, boxing champion Apollo Creed, who died before Adonis was born. However, boxing is in his blood, so he seeks out Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) and asks the retired champ to be his trainer. Rocky sees much of Apollo in Adonis, and agrees to mentor him, even as he battles an opponent deadlier than any in the ring. With Rocky's help, Adonis soon gets a title shot, but whether he has the true heart of a fighter remains to be seen.

A spinoff movie based on the Rocky movies.

4. Pan - October 8, 2015

Living a bleak existence at a London orphanage, 12-year-old Peter (Levi Miller) finds himself whisked away to the fantastical world of Neverland. Adventure awaits as he meets new friend James Hook (Garrett Hedlund) and the warrior Tiger Lily (Rooney Mara). They must band together to save Neverland from the ruthless pirate Blackbeard (Hugh Jackman). Along the way, the rebellious and mischievous boy discovers his true destiny, becoming the hero forever known as Peter Pan.

3. The Revenant - December 25, 2015

While exploring the uncharted American wilderness, legendary trapper Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) withstands a brutal bear attack, but is left for dead by members of his own hunting team. Betrayed by his confidant John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy), Glass endures unimaginable hardships as he navigates a vicious winter in a relentless quest to live and find redemption. Determined to make it home to his family, Glass must use sheer will to survive against all odds.

2. The Hateful Eight - December 25, 2015

While racing toward the town of Red Rock in post-Civil War Wyoming, bounty hunter John "The Hangman" Ruth (Kurt Russell) and his fugitive prisoner (Jennifer Jason Leigh) encounter another bounty hunter (Samuel L. Jackson) and a man (Walton Goggins) who claims to be a sheriff. Hoping to find shelter from a blizzard, the group travels to a stagecoach stopover located on a mountain pass. After encountering four strangers, they may not make it to their destination.

1. The Martian - September 30, 2015

When astronauts blast off from the planet Mars, they leave behind Mark Watney (Matt Damon), presumed dead after a fierce storm. With only a meagre amount of supplies, the stranded visitor must utilise his wits and spirit to find a way to survive on the hostile planet. Meanwhile, back on Earth, members of NASA and a team of international scientists work tirelessly to bring him home, while his crew mates hatch their own plan for a daring rescue mission.

Based off a book of the same name, The Martian tracks the story of an astronaut who gets stranded...... on Mars.
