Ever since the Warner Bros executive screening of Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, rumours have been floating that Ben Affleck's Batman was good enough to earn a Batfleck trilogy, which would be directed by Affleck as well as starring him as the titular detective.

Now since Dawn of Justice seems to be taking a lot of elements from the incredible graphic novel "The Dark Knight Returns" it seems possible that Warner Bros will continue such a trend and use some of the greatest stories involving their heroes to make films. Will they do this with the Batfleck trilogy, assuming it happens? If so, here are five Batman stories that would be great to see on screen!

1. The Killing Joke!

Jared... is that you?

With the obvious history between Batman and the Joker already established in the DCEU, it seems they are really setting up for a Joker vs Batman film on the level of The Dark Knight. The interesting thing is that "A Death in the family" has probably already happened by now, meaning we are left wondering what storyline, if any, the film will take. I can definitely see (especially if Jena Malone's role in BvS turns out to be Batgirl) the film following the storyline of The Killiing Joke, where the Joker puts Barbara Gordon in a wheelchair. This has long been a beloved storyline for Batman fans, and is set to be made into an R-rated animated film with Mark Hamill returning as the Joker, meaning the story will be fresh in our minds when the first Batfleck solo film comes out in four years time!

2. Night of Owls!

Hedwig? Is that you?

A recent storyline that took place in the current Batman series in 2012, Night of Owls tells the story of the Court of Owls, an ancient order who have been controlling Gotham secretly for hundreds of years. The way this affects Batman, (known for being the greatest detective), yet being unable to ever uncover this organisation after so many years, is phenomenal. Then how the story progresses, showing how deep this goes within Gotham, would be perfect in my mind as the second film in the Batfleck trilogy.

3. Under the Red Hood!

Is this the Joker too?

Having said that, this film would also be perfect as the second in the trilogy. Under the Red Hood was an animated film which perfectly showcased the return of Jason Todd. Why do I want this film to happen? So that we can prove, once and for all, that Jason Todd=Jason Todd, and not the Joker or anyone else. With the death of Jason Todd having already taken place in the film universe, both BvS and Suicide Squad seem to be setting up this storyline, so I can definitely see it happening.

4. Hush!

I know this one, it's the Mummy!
I know this one, it's the Mummy!

Hush is one of the most well known Batman storylines. It depicts a villainous stalker trying to sabotage Batman. It involves a huge number of appearances by various Batman villains, as well as most of the Bat-family, and even Superman! It also would be great as an introductory film for the trilogy, before you jump into any of the major Batman villains. Plus Hush is a very different type of villain to the ones we have seen in recent Batman films, and the dynamic would be very interesting to see!

5. Son of the Demon!

Liam Neeson?
Liam Neeson?

Or we could go for a villain we have seen multiple times in the last ten years. Ra's Al Ghul just finished a season on CW's Arrow, and we last saw Liam Neeson in his excellent version of the character in 2012's The Dark Knight Rises. But we haven't yet seen the kind of ancient magical character that Matt Nable brought to Arrow on the big screen. And while we got Talia Al Ghul (Kind of) in the Nolan Trilogy, we haven't explored fully the complicated relationship between her and Batman. I would love to see this, as well as maybe even Damien Wayne, come into the films.

Thanks for reading guys! What do you want to see explored in the Batfleck trilogy?
