I opened my eyes to see a classroom. I sat up and looked around. I was in History of Magic! How I got here; I'd rather not know. I looked at the enchanted clock on the wall. It turned so I could read the glowing green numbers. It was nearly noon! How long had I been out? What was today? Had Quirrell passed the devil's snare yet? Yes, I knew what it was, but didn't tell him. I was stubborn, as promised! I stood up and brushed off my filthy robes and left the classroom. I probably look like crap, but I really don't care. I feel really paranoid and shy right now. As if Quirrell will jump out and hit me if I say something wrong. As if.......I had no where to run. I couldn't face him on my own, but I couldn't ask for help either. I was just so helpless! If I faced him one on one, I'd be tortured and beaten, but if I asked for help, I'd be tortured, beaten, and my friends would die! Merlin, I hate hard decisions! I have no options! I can't face him alone, I can't ask for help, I can't turn him in because no one would believe me, and I can't let him steal whatever it is Fluffy's guarding! Ugh, I hate being helpless! I made my way to lunch, wondering if I'd be able to keep my food down. I know, you're probably thinking that I'm overreacting to a few slaps, but I've got a few new bruises. I've got three bruises on my face, six on each leg, four on my right arm, and one on my left. Each step I took, felt like I had run a marathon! After about twenty minutes, twice as long as it should have taken, I finally made it to lunch. I just want to fall over and sleep for days! I stumbled over to the Ravenclaw table and sat at the end closest to the door. Lunch had just started.
"Lex?" A voice asked, making me jump and whirl around, half expecting Quirrell to slap me again. It was only Harry! I gave him a small smile and his emerald eyes widened in concern as he sat next to me, ignoring the looks of confusion from the Ravens. "Are you okay?" Were the first words he said. Wow, he's thick, of course I'm not okay! I just nodded, thinking that I shouldn't worry him. "Who hurt you?" He asked as he handed me a ham and cheese sandwich. I took it gratefully.
"Can't say," I answered with a stone cold face. He asked why as he ran his fingers through his messy black hair. "Because I can't loose you," I whispered and pushed his glasses up his nose. I didn't even know where my glasses were. He said that I never would and gave me a one armed hug as I devoured my lunch. "Thanks, Hare," I said meekly.
"We good?" He asked. "You've been gone for a couple days."
"We're good. Anyway, I have to go talk to someone up in Gryffindor tower," I said and stood up. Well, attempted to stand is more accurate. "Or not," I said as my legs gave out. Harry caught me and picked me up bridal style. He swung me around onto his back and I wrapped my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck. "Where we goin'?" I asked.
"You're going to the hospital wing," Harry answered and carried me out of the great hall.
"But, I still want food!" I whined.
"I'll bring you food later," Harry answered. I finally gave in when he dropped me off at the hospital wing. "See you in a bit, Lex," he said and kissed my forehead. I blushed, he smirked, then Madame Pomfrey shooed him out. I waved and I couldn't tell if he did because Madame P. blocked my view as she shoved a cherry flavored potion down my throat.
