I don't envy Guardians of the Galaxy director and all round patient guy James Gunn one bit, because despite his claims that no other human characters besides Peter Quill/Star-Lord will be appearing in GotG Vol. 2, he still gets bombarded with questions regarding that exact statement.

This time it's Iron Man's turn to be thrown into the galactic rumor mill, and it's no surprise really. With the shocking move to slip Iron Man into the comic arc of the Guardians, some fans had hoped that there might be at least a cameo from the superbly goateed one.

But on Facebook this week, Gunn was... pretty adamant that there wasn't a chance of this happening:

Oh... okay then. Glad that's cleared up! But in a round of Twitter questions from earlier this month, when asked whether Hulk would be smashing his way into Vol. 2, he pretty succinctly cleared up his views on his inclusion:

So why are we still so hung up on the two parties of the Guardians and the Avengers coalescing? Surely that won't happen until we verge closer towards Infinity War! And that's lightyears away.

It might be, in some part, down to Robert Downey Jr's admission to Empire Magazine that he'd be more than happy to cameo in other Marvel movies in the future:

At this point it's about helping each other, too. I look at it as a competition, and I go, 'Wow, maybe if these two franchises teamed up and I can take even a lesser position, with people I like and directors I respect, maybe we can keep things bumping along.'

And we haven't had one of those awesome recruiting post-credit scenes for a while:

And, of course, pure unadulterated hope. But I think it's safe to say Peter Quill will be the only human character in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

What do you think?
