Independent film returns to London with the 23rd Raindance Film Festival, opening tonight at the Vue Cinema in Piccadilly Circus.

Spread over two weeks, the festival's programme includes short films and features, music videos, web series (forming Raindance Web Fest as a mini-festival within RDFF), and special talks and events on making your own film on low-to-no budget. If you're a budding filmmaker, you can even participate in the festival's script surgeries and get feedback on your projects.

This year Raindance has extended its reach by branching out to the Apple Store in Covent Garden, where you can join some of the filmmakers in official selection at Raindance Film Festival and Raindance Web Fest and hear them speak about the making of their films and what they recommend for new filmmakers hoping to embark on making films on their own. All Apple Store events are free but you must register to attend.

Raindance kicks off TONIGHT, September 23rd, with a premiere Gala screening of NEWCOMER, a British spy thriller starring Without A Trace's Anthony LaPaglia. Check out the trailer below:

The festival runs till the 4th October. Get the full programme and book tickets for films and special events at
