Happy birthday to actor Anthony Mackie! The actor turns 37 today, if you can believe it - someone, please give me whatever elixir of youth he is drinking. Blood of virgins? Regular sacrifices to the god of immortality? I'm just saying, the man looks good.

The actor, whose breakout role was Papa Doc in 8 Mile in 2002, is, of course, best known for his current role of Sam Wilson/Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, having been in [Captain America: The Winter Soldier](tag:254973), Ant-Man, and a regular fixture on the press tour circuit as part of the Marvel hype machine.

But Mackie isn't just a blockbuster actor. After graduating from the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, Mackie later went on to graduate from the prestigious Juilliard School's Drama Division. Some of his other best-known movies include Brother to Brother, for which he was nominated for Best Actor at the Independent Spirit Awards, The Hurt Locker, for which he received another Independent Spirit Awards nomination, this time for Best Supporting Actor, Million Dollar Baby, Freedomland, We Are Marshall, and Notorious, where he portrayed the late rapper Tupac Shakur.

Mackie is also an accomplished Broadway and off-Broadway star, starring on stage in plays including Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, A Soldier's Play, and Talk, the latter of which won him an Obie Award.

I bet you didn't know all of that about Captain America's sidekick, did you? Let's wish Anthony a happy birthday!
