George Clooney and Julia Roberts headline the Jodie Foster-directed drama, Money Monster.
Clooney is Lee Gates, an investment genius whose financial TV show has made him a massive celebrity and a popular Wall Street insider.
Julia Roberts stars as Patty Fenn, Lee’s significant other.
Their lives are turned into a nightmare when a Kyle Budwell, (played by Jack O’Connell: 300, Skins) a disgruntled fan of the show (who lost all his money because of bad investment advice) seeks to get even by kidnapping Gates.
The drama also stars Dominic West and Giancarlo Esposito. West plays a company CEO and Esposito plays a police officer.
Production of Money Monster took place in early spring 2015, which also included two weeks of filming in and around Wall Street’s Financial District in New York City.
Money Monster hits theaters April 8th, 2016.
George Clooney also stars in the upcoming Coen Brothers 1950’s period comedy, Hail Caesar! It debuts February 5, 2016.
Julia Roberts is currently filming (along with Jason Sudeikis and Jennifer Aniston) the Gary Marshall directed comedy, Mother’s Day, which is slated for release April 28, 2016.
