Donald Glover has risen to fame, consciously moved out of the spotlight, and risen back up in only a handful of years, making his mark as a comedian, musician, and actor on more platforms and stages than you can count on two hands.

But if there's anything Glover -- also known as Childish Gambino -- has made his own, it's the impactful ways that he makes his return to whichever stage he's standing on. Fans can flock to see The Martian, out on Oct. 2nd, where Glover wows as Rich Purnell, but in the meantime, the rich backlog of Glover's career makes for hours of endless entertainment and excellent performances.

Glover's most notable appearances include his starring role as Troy Barnes in Community, best friend and co-conspirator with Danny Pudi's Abed Nadir, along with a string of incredible headlining stand-up shows -- including Weirdo, on Netflix now.

For comic book fans, Donald Glover is also partially responsible for the creation of Miles Morales, the first person of color to take on the mantle of Spider-Man. When Glover began a campaign to play the Amazing Spider-Man (a part that eventually went to Andrew Garfield), Marvel took notice, and the concept of Miles Morales began. Glover finally took on the role this year in the animated series Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors for two episodes, opposite Drake Bell's Peter Parker.

The horizon is bright for the young actor, who was profiled in our Stars to Watch this past summer by the incredible Ridley Scott: he's currently filming Atlanta, a TV movie set to debut within the coming years, and the entire music industry is waiting with bated breath for his next move.

Happy birthday, Donald!
