5 Reasons To Watch The Big Lebowski

The Big Lebowski has got to be one of my favorite films of all time - hell, I was even interviewed about my love for it in an Australian newspaper!

I give this movie a spin a couple times a year, even though I know the ending and all the jokes, I really do enjoy watching it. So grab your favourite cardigan, careful not to spill your beverage and pump the Creedence!

In case you're wondering - that's me on the right.

1. It's so damn quotable

What's your favorite #Lebowski quote ?

Just make sure other people know the movie when you're quoting! I have made that mistake...

2. It's smarter than you think

Not just a stoner comedy!

3. It has some great performances

With three Oscar winners (Jeff Bridges, Julienne Moore and Phillip Seymour Hoffman) in leads roles and a stunning back up cast of John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, John Turturro and Sam Elliot - you know you've hit a goldmine.

4. It's incredibly well made

The Coen brothers are amazing filmmakers, but this movie really blends surrealism with film noir style shots resulting in this cult classic. Oh, and the soundtrack is perfect for a California themed lazy Sunday.

5. You will always make friends with this movie!

Throughout my life, I have found kindred spirits in the people who like this movie (See: quotes, above). It manages to get people excited and eager to have fun. Just check out the annual gathering of fans at the US based Lebowski Fest or the unique coolness of a Big Lebowski themed bar in Iceland (check it out if you're ever in the area)!
