First of all, big shout out and thanks to Julian Gerdes for nominating me for this 5 Day Recommendation Challenge. I always wanted to do one of these challenges so here we go!
The 90's was full of comedy TV shows and movies, so much so that it is hard to pick just one thing to recommend. Should I recommend a personal favorite, something others might not have seen or heard of, or maybe something that has survived the sands of time and everyone can still fall in love with today. In the end, I felt like I landed on a movie that might just fit the bill for all 3. So without further ado I give you my 90's comedy recommendation:
10 Things I Hate About You
This movie was a modernized take on William Shakespear's Taming of the Shrew starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt (500 Days of Summer, The Dark Knight Rises, The Walk), Larisa Oleynik (The Secret World of Alex Mack, The Baby Sitters Club), Julia Stiles (Save The Last Dance, The Bourne Identity, The Omen), and Heath Ledger (Brokeback Mountain, A Knight's Tale, The Dark Knight... RIP). 10 Things had everything you would want in a 90's movies: incredible cast, awesome soundtrack, and that particular 90's flair that seems to never get old (so to speak). And lets not forget about some of the movies great one-liners. (WARNING: SPOILERS FOLLOW IN FORMS OF PICTURES AND VIDEO)
Or great moments like this one:
Now even with all these small bits I have share, there still are plenty of hilarious moments from every character in this movie. Not only that, but 10 Things is a timeless film with the memorable characters, life lessons to be learned, and heart-felt moments to share. I can't even remember the amount of times I have seen this movie. For that matter, my entire family has rewatched this movie on multiple occasions and can quote this movie without even thinking. 10 Things I Hate About You is a 90's classic and one of the best comedies around! If you haven't seen it yet, what are you waiting for?! Watch it now!
