Over the course of the last 14 years, the Fast and the Furious franchise has taken the world by storm and captured our hearts in the process. But as much as we'd all like to be kicking it into high gear with the gang for many years to come, it sounds as if the finish line is in sight for these adrenaline-loving street racers.

Amidst rumors that the eighth installment of the series has so far failed to find its director, producer and star of the films Vin Diesel took to his Facebook personally to clear the air.

In addition to clarifying the situation surrounding the search for the perfect director to stand at the helm of the film, he also announced that the next movie will kick off the closing trilogy for the series. Here's Vin Diesel's Facebook post in full below:

The fans of the Fast & Furious SAGA are the best fans in the world... Since I became the Producer in 2008, you have been...

Although Vin's next post didn't officially announce the prospective directors as promised, in true good-guy-Vin Diesel style, he did take the time to thank all of the fans of the franchise for being part of what makes the Fast and Furious movies so great.

All weekend long, my producing partner Neal, the Studio and myself have been mapping out the future of our SAGA... All...

He closes out his most recent post with the heartfelt statement:

On behalf of the FAST Family, we thank you for making our DVD the biggest in history. We make these films with Our hearts.

With the news that we're going to see a Fast and Furious 8, 9, and 10, fans of the saga will be left trying to figure out how they will be able to top stunts like driving cars out of planes and through three buildings, and how the series will proceed without Paul Walker.

Whichever way they decide to go about it, the dedicated Fast and Furious audiences will be at the edge of their seats as always, waiting to see what crazy stunts and schemes the team comes up with next.

Fast 8 is currently set to hit theaters on April 14, 2017.
