I'm going to go ahead and admit that the show CSI probably was about due to be taken off the air. The classic series that led to multiple spin-offs set in different cities, and that worked well to create an entire type of crime show, has finally come to an end after 16 seasons.

Lasting for 16 seasons on television, no matter what kind of show you are, is an impressive feat. Now, doing that with a show that has a fairly basic formula for success... that's incredible.

*SPOILER ALERT* Here are three reasons you might as well watch the CSI finale if you haven't yet.

1. They brought Grissom back

Like it or not, Grissom is one of the most iconic characters in television history. Bringing him back for this episode after a long hiatus from the show was a no-brainer and ended up being key to the success of the finale.

2. Sara and Grissom hook-up... YESSS

The two sail off into the sunset together and it's a little sappy, but also pretty great. It certainly gives us closure.

3. Tooms from The X-Files makes an appearance

Doug Hutchison, a.k.a. "Tooms" from The X-Files, was one of the creepiest villains in '90s television history. Bringing him back via CSI was one of the best ways to spice things up on the series finale. Because, as you know, it's important to mix things up on a show that has lasted 15 years, clearly.

So, go watch. Like... right now. You will like it, even if you aren't a huge CSI fan. You have to admire a show with this much longevity.

In honor of what has to be one of the best celebrity guest appearances ever, here are all the Taylor Swift CSI scenes, for your viewing pleasure.
