Last night, fans of The X-Files got a surprise when FOX aired a two-part promo trailer for the upcoming X-Files revival during Gotham and Minority Report.

The first is part one of a two part trailer, and in it, Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) is reaching out to a reluctant Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) to bring her back into the fold, or so it would appear.

EDIT: Unfortunately, after the publishing of this article, FOX pulled the trailer. Apologies for that.

The second is a shorter promo (thankfully much more high quality), and has a bit of the same footage, but we're reintroduced to a familiar friend in boss Walter Skinner (Mitch Pileggi)...and a familiar enemy in The Smoking Man (Walter B. Davis). And why is Scully in a hospital? A quick look at the IMDB page shows us a character by the name of Margaret Scully (Sheila Larken). Perhaps Scully's mother?

"They police us, they spy on us, tell us that makes us safer - we've never been in more danger." I think it's safe to say that in [Captain America: Civil War](tag:994409), Fox Mulder would be Team Cap all the way.

It's great to see the gang back together, with virtually the entire original cast - at least, the cast that counts - returning for the revival.

The first episode, titled "My Struggle," airs January 24 on FOX.

Are you looking forward to the X-Files revival?
