EA has released more information about the upcoming multiplayer beta for DICE's anticipated shooter, [Star Wars: Battlefront](tag:2684021), including the beta's file size, level cap, and pre-loading.
First, the Battlefront beta will be nearly 7 GB on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One; the PC edition, however, will be closer to 11 GB. Pre-loading will be availible, but only on the PC. PC players can pre-load the Battlefront beta through Origin starting at 1 AM PDT / 4 AM EDT / 9 AM UK on Wednesday, October 7.
In addition, EA has confirmed that the Battlefront beta will let you level up your character up to level five. Once players have reached this cap, they can NOT progress to higher levels, but they can still unlock more items. EA has not yet announced the level cap for the full game.
"The Battlefront beta will run October 8-12. You do not need to preorder the game to play, as the pre-release play period is open to everyone. EA also stresses that the beta is being held in part to allow DICE to test aspects of the game's online infrastructure. As such, players may run into "interruptions" during gameplay. What's more, progress earned during the beta will not carry forward to the full game." - Eddie Makuch
