Season 2 of Marvel's [Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.](tag:722469) is set to focus heavily on the Inhumans, a new sort of superhuman represented within S.H.I.E.L.D. by Quake, a.k.a. Daisy Johnson, played by Chloe Bennet. With high hopes, fans have followed the show's stars through months of filming and an adorable dubmash rivalry. Now, we're getting our first looks at even more Inhumans ahead of tonight's premiere, starting with Matthew Willig as Lash. Check him out below:

Originally created by Charles Soule and Joe Madureira, Lash had a long-running and unique backstory that isn't too far-fetched when it comes to running alongside the show's current storyline. Believing that many Inhumans didn't deserve their powers, Lash set off in search of them after Black Bolt set off the Terrigen Bomb, and most of those that he encountered didn't live to warn anyone else.

"I like to think that they've seen their fair of crazy shit and that's just something that's pretty insane but not totally mind-blowing," Bennet told ComicBook when asked about Quake's reaction to Lash's appearance. "I don't want to say that the team is jaded, I think that there's definitely like that, ‘Okay, that's f*cking weird but let's try and find him.’ I kind of think that's more a let's shake it off and find this guy and see what he's up to, what he's doing."

With his terrifying appearance and daunting comic history, Lash is set to be a formidable new challenge. Bennet described what seeing the towering Inhuman was like in real life:

For me, on set, when Matt walked on to set, honestly, me and Luke [Mitchell] and Henry [Simmons] had our jaws dropped. I actually think he looks even better in person than he does on camera. I wish everyone could see him in person, it's just shocking.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns tonight at at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
