Although Jessie Eisenberg is down to play a nefarious billionaire in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, it seems that in real life he's much more generous with his fortune.
The Zombieland and American Ultra star recent embarked on a "Mission Tour" of Middle Way House, a non-profit shelter in Bloomington, Indiana for victims of domestic and sexual violence. When speaking about Eisenberg, executive director of Middle Way, Toby Strout, had this to say:
"He was sitting there so thoughtfully through the whole thing, and at he end he said, 'Ok, I'm going to do this thing.'"
The "thing" Eisenberg had in mind was a donation-matching fundraising campaign for the charity, in which he agreed to match up to $100,000 in contributions made to The Middle Way House.
However, this isn't the first time Eisenberg and Strout have met, since more than a decade ago Eisenberg dated his daughter, Anna. The couple reportedly dated for a few years before going their separate ways and maintaining a friendship,. With this in mind, Strout wasn't surprised about Eisenberg's generosity. He added:
"He's a really fine young man. He's very curious and very interested in the world and injustice. He very much wants to play a part in alleviating distress and making life better for people."
From November, the funds generated by The Middle Way House will mostly go towards financing the development of "New Wings" -- one of the charity's facilities. If you want to find out more about their work, or maybe send some money their way, make sure to check out their website.
