While we're all aware that actors sometimes have to go through insane body transformations for their movie roles, it can often be the case that these dramatic weight yo-yos not only plays havoc with their waistline (and media coverage), but their health, too.

Crazy crash-diets are of no interest to us at MP, however celebrities who endorse a healthy and happy lifestyle are, so here's a list of 11 celebrities whose dramatic weight loss has impacted their lives for the better.

1. Christina Aguilera

Weight Loss: 46lbs

"Christina has hired a trainer and is really dedicated to getting thin again. She lost 46 pounds from changing her diet and working with a personal chef."

Choosing to ignore the body slammers, Aguilera added:

"I have a boyfriend that loves my body. I love my body, my son is healthy and happy and that is all that matters."

2. Jessica Simpson

Weight Loss: 50lbs

According to Fox News:

“With both kids, I’m running up and down my stairs a million times. Kids can keep your metabolism going. Eric (Johnson) and I go on walks together. I try and walk about 4 miles a day consistently. It makes me feel better.
These days, Simpson breaks a sweat four days a week with 45-minute workouts.
“It’s a lot of resistance training, lots of lunges and squats,” she explains. “There are bursts of cardio throughout the workout as well.”

3. Carrie Fisher

Weight Loss: 40lbs

It was Carrie's mother, Debbie Reynolds, who revealed the stars epic weight loss:

"She’s been on a diet ever since [she was cast in Star Wars Episode VII], because you know they have to be up to par, so she looks terrific. She's very excited, as we all are, because we all love Star Wars."

5. Zach Galifianakis

Weight Loss: An estimated 50lbs

"I started walking a bunch and gave up booze. Booze, I was done with it. I couldn't wake up [like usual], so I stopped. I'm lucky that I could just stop, but boy I miss it. Being light is fun. I can go up two flights of steps now, and only need my inhaler twice."

In 2013 he also revealed:

"I was having a lot of vodka with sausage, delicious but bad for you"

6. John Goodman

Weight Loss: 100lbs and counting

"I know it sounds sappy, but it was a waste. It takes a lot of creative energy to sit on your ass and figure out what you're going to eat next ... I wanted to live life better."

7. Melissa McCarthy

Weight Loss: 50lbs

"I truly stopped worrying about it. I think there's something to kinda loosening up and not being so nervous and rigid about it that, bizarrely, has worked.

The star also reportedly took up practicing martial arts which has clearly helped with her dramatic weight loss.

"It may be the best thing I've ever done. I feel amazing!"

8. Chris Pratt

Weight Loss: 65lbs

“Six months seems like a long time unless you’re looking backwards… all you have to do is just a few things everyday and remain consistent, and time will fly just as fast as it flies if you’re working hard or not. If you just cut the crap out of your diet, and if you spend an hour a day doing something physical that will make you sweat, six months will pass by, you will feel better mentally, physically, spiritually — it all is tied together.”

9. Jennifer Hudson

Weight Loss: 80lbs

"I throw the pancakes across the room! I don't let the food intimidate me. If it's too much, I just get rid of it, but I make sure to watch what I put in my body. And I make sure I know what it is. It's all about portions for the most part. I don't work out a lot, but I do like to be active."

10. Rosie O'Donnell

Weight Loss: 50lbs

"The fact that I look so different has been difficult and unexpected. Everyone assumes that obese people would just be jumping for joy that they were healthier and thinner and able to fit into store-bought sizes, we don't have to go to the plus store.

After suffering a heart attack in 2012, O'Donnell claims her weight-loss surgery has been life saving.

This has really, really helped [me]."

11. Kirstie Alley

Weight Loss: 50lbs

"This time it's different. My goal is to keep this and maintain this throughout my life. … I feel like I've conquered that now. I'm sort of hardheaded. You know, when I used to do drugs, it took me a while to quit, quit, quit — and then it was done. And I feel like that's occurred for me [with my weight now]."
