With just a few more months still on the clock, fans everywhere are looking forward to Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice which will hit theaters on March 25th 2016.

But it has recently been reported that the film itself has got its rating. This early? It should come as no surprise. According to the Motion Picture Association of America, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice will be rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action throughout and some sensuality.

Now this doesn't surprise me. Reason is because since nearly every action film I have ever seen is PG-13 due to either intense violence, some language or even some frightening images. But all-in-all, since a lot of people like Batman and Superman, I think this is the highest rating that the MPAA could give a movie like this, considering the fact that it's a superhero movie.

Now this gets me curious on something. Now while I agree that the film is definitely worth a PG-13 rating due to all the action and violence that will be shown in the film, I am a bit curious as to the sensuality description will be due to some romantic involvement between Bruce Wayne (Batman) and Diana Prince (Wonder Woman).

If we look back at every single Batman film here, from the 1989 Tim Burton Batman up to the 2012 Christopher Nolan Dark Knight Rises, they all are PG-13. But when I watched the 1992 Batman Returns, I thought of it to being an R-rated film due to the darker tone than the first Batman film had. While the film delivered great action and very dark moments throughout the whole film, I always considered the film to being worthy of a R-rated sort of tone.

On the flip-side of Batman, there have only been two Superman films that have been PG-13 rated which are Bryan Singer's Superman Returns and the most recent Zack Snyder directed Man of Steel. Now I don't understand why they couldn't get any one of the films in the original 70's-80's Superman series to being rated PG-13. Or maybe because it was in the earliest days of the MPAA rating system as we know it today.

The film will star Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Gal Gadot, Diane Lane, Jeremy Irons and Laurence Fishburne and will be released on March 25th 2016.

So what do you think about this rating? Do you like it? Do you hate it? Would you have considered this film being R-rated? Leave your thoughts down below.
