On this episode of Fear the Walking Dead, “Cobalt” sets up the season finale as the Clarks and Manawa families are very unprepared to what's about to happen. Daniel S. shows-off his close shaving skills and shares his past experiences. Also, we’re are introduced to Nick’s new cellmate named Strand, played by Coleman Domingo and we say farewell to Griselda Salazar - the 1st main character to die on the show but certainly not the last.
Choosing to leave her her son, Chris M, Liza O assists the assertive female doctor at the triage and discovers for herself how the infection has affected everyone in the city. As the wounded come in, those bitten are given the Rainbow Six special, a shot in the head with gas pellet pistol. Unfortunately, Liza’s first kill shot was on poor, amputated leg hooping, Griselda. Succumbed to complications to her surgery, begins to foretell the coming of the devil, to what sounds like a presidential speech.
Nick again is going through to what seems like his 100th cold turkey attempt as he befriends and very cool cat wearing an Armani suit. His name is Strand. No ones know who or why he’s being detailed at the triage holding cell, but makes the best of it by instigating people in having huge anxiety attacks. It works and certainly generates available space to plot his escape with the help of his No.1 guy, Nick.
Back on the home-front, Daniel’s interrogates soldier Andrew and finds Army troops will be leaving behind their little Norman Rockwell formed community. Too proud to say goodbye, shell casings will be their parting gifts as orders are given to kill everyone in the neighborhood the next morning. Why am I not surprised? Madison, without her cup of Vodka juice, looks as if the last day of school was delayed one extra day has no idea what to do? Meanwhile, Travis takes on the military when he insists commanding officer to take him to the triage to see Nick and Griselda. Driving en route, a call for backup causes a detour to an abandoned building where soldiers are trapped by the onslaught of dead walkers. Travis stays in the hummer as sound of gunshots and exploding grenades doesn’t agree with him. Where’s the backbone, man?
Now what can I expect to see the final show of Fear the Walking Dead, not much. My hunch, the executive producers will have everyone back to start season two. I would like to see a shake-up on the character development. Like, Nick being a more devious character as his drug habit will get the best of him. Strand, with his pimp daddy customer service skills, will no doubt be a man of power and influence. As for Travis and Madison, either dead or some part of their body, cutoff - avoiding infection of course. As for Chris and Alicia, get intimate and get personal tattoos. For Daniel S. show the kids the fundamentals of an interrogation - it's a very particular set of skills. Season finale on this Sunday at 9 PM. on AMC.
That’s my story and I am sticking to it. Reporting for MoviePilot,
