(Warning - the following may contain major SPOILERS for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. Proceed with whatever level of caution the force suggests to you...)
With Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens finally just a few short months away, it's inevitably becoming increasingly difficult to distract ourselves from the fact that in just a matter of weeks, we'll be watching Han, Luke, Leia and the rest of the gang on the bid screen once more.
It's also, however, increasingly difficult to ignore the giant, hulking rumors that are floating around the internet - some of which seem to suggest that...
Episode VII Could Feature the Star Wars Saga's Biggest Twist Since Darth Vader's Father-Son Chat With Luke
Here, then, are four of the most intriguing - and potentially shocking...
4. Han Solo Might Not Make It Out of the Movie Alive
Yup. That's right.
Han Solo could be about to die.
Rumors have been circulating for a while now that Harrison Ford's Solo isn't going to make it to Episode VIII, but the latest come with the added plausibility of seeming to know who's set to kill him - Adam Driver's Kylo Ren.
Which...y'know what? I am officially not okay with - though admittedly that's partly out of solidarity with my eight-year-old self who would be mortified at the very idea of Han Solo ever dying.
3. Darth Vader Might Turn Up More Than You'd Think
Now, this one's been around for a while too, but recent murmurings about Hayden Christensen possibly having a small role in Episode VII would seem to add credence to the idea that Darth Vader may well be making a return in the movie.
Now, odds are that would be in the form of a Force Ghost, rather than Anakin turning out to have been sneakily kept alive by Luke for all of those years, but even so - this one could be a big 'un...
Not quite as big, however, as the idea that:
2. Emperor Palpatine Might Be Alive and Well
Now, this one's a more recent development - and one you can read more about right here - but the general gist of it?
It seems Emperor Palpatine might be a whole less dead than we all assumed.
Which, if true...probably doesn't bode too well for the universe - or the New Republic.
Finally, though - and potentially most horrifying of all?
1. Luke Skywalker Might Have Turned to the Dark Side
Or, rather, it might just be a little unclear where Skywalker stands. According to one long-standing rumor, Luke will be struggling with the enormity of his Jedi abilities, and be seriously questioning whether or not he is truly a force for good, or one for evil.
Should he ultimately opt for the dark side of that particular equation, then it might actually trump Darth Vader's big Empire Strikes Back reveal about Luke's parentage...
The big question, though?
