Days after the heartbreaking passing of make-up artist Cathriona White, her family and friends are offering their sentiments of love in a truly trying time. On-again, off-again boyfriend Jim Carrey called her his "delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil."

Now, her family from Cappawhite, Ireland, have released a statement expressing their memories of Cathriona and a request for privacy while they cope with such an unexpected loss:

The family of Cathriona White sincerely regret the untimely passing of their beloved daughter and sister. Cathriona was a shining light in our lives who was loved deeply by her entire family. We will miss her terribly and at this difficult time we ask to be left in private to mourn our loss.

The 28-year-old California resident died just two days after the anniversary of her dad's death.

Cathriona's body is being flown back to Ireland, where she will be laid to rest next to her father, who died three years ago after a 20-year long battle with cancer. The funeral services and burial will take place in her hometown of Cappawhite.

A lover of all things Irish, Cathriona posted this poignant quote to her Instagram just days before her passing. It's William Butler Yeats hoping for an escape from life:

Faeries, come take me out of this dull world,
For I would ride with you upon the wind,
Run on the top of the dishevelled tide,
And dance upon the mountains like a flame.

Judging by the reactions of those closest to her, it's clear that Cathriona was an inspirational flame in many peoples lives. While she will certainly be missed dearly, her shining light will never be forgotten by her relatives and loved ones.
