We're all well familiar with Taylor Swift's penchant for doing just about anything for her fans and lending a helping hand to anyone in need. Whether it's meeting with someone backstage, visiting a bridal shower, or playing Santa Claus, T-Swift is the gift that keeps on giving.
The most recent recipient of a Swift Gift was the 13-month-old nephew of one of her backup dancers, Toshi.
Yesterday Toshi announced via Instagram that Ayden "Little Toshi" was sadly diagnosed with cancer. In addition to his post he linked to a GoFundMe page where his followers could donate to his medical bills.
After a recent flight, Toshi stepped off the tarmac to find the page had been gifted a generous amount by the singer.
The page was updated with the following message from Ayden's family.
Ayden's mother personally responded to the generous donation to say how just how much everyone's contributions have helped:
I want to take a moment and thank everyone for all your contributions, prayers, and thoughtful words. Ayden has an enormous battle ahead of him, and an army of people who love him behind him so we cannot loose. Taylor you have taken an enormous weight off my shoulders by allowing me to walk this journey with my son and be his protector. I know this is a battle you are familiar with but something no one can be prepared for. So thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. I will be forever grateful to Taylor and each and every person who made a contribution to Ayden's fight.
Helping those with cancer seems to have become a personal mission for Taylor Swift. In addition to writing the beautiful song 'Ronan,' inspired by four-year-old Ronan Thompson who passed away from cancer in 2011 and meeting with multiple fans fighting the disease, Swift has unfortunately dealt with cancer recently in her personal life.
She announced on Tumblr earlier this year that her mother, Andrea Finlay, had been diagnosed with cancer in the following post:
For Christmas this year, I asked my mom that one of her gifts to me be her going to the doctor to get screened for any health issues, just to ease some worries of mine. She agreed, and went in to get checked. There were no red flags and she felt perfectly fine, but she did it just to get me and my brother off her case about it.
The results came in, and I’m saddened to tell you that my mom has been diagnosed with cancer. I’d like to keep the details of her condition and treatment plans private, but she wanted you to know.
Even if you're not the biggest fan of her music, there's no denying that she uses her fame and wealth to do good. Keep up the great work, Taylor Swift!
