Last month, rumors ran rampant regarding George Miller, the genius behind the Mad Max saga, claiming that Miller was up for the director's chair on Man of Steel 2. Now, someone has finally asked Miller directly -- and his answer is something of a let-down, but the way he phrases it can leave a fan hopeful for a Superman film with Miller at the helm.
When Digital Spy asked Miller about the rumors, he replied:
There's been some of that in the mix, but I'd say probably not true... But I've always been interested. Basically I work in mythology, and the superhero movies are new incarnations of Greek and Roman mythology, so it's always been something I've been interested in.
He went on to talk about his love for DC, explaining that the DC superheroes were the "pantheon" of comics when he was growing up, and gave his opinion on the slowly growing DC Cinematic Universe under Zack Snyder's hand. "I love his work," Miller said.
There's been a lot of shaky news regarding Man of Steel 2, including claims that the film has been put "indefinitely on hold," but with movies planned through the next five years for the DC Extended Universe, anything can happen.
