You've probably seen a Marvel movie. Let's face it, in this day and age, it's hard not to! Marvel releases one or two movies every year, and with the way they promote them with tons of trailers and posters all over, chances are you've seen a few Marvel movies since the MCU debuted back in 2008.

But whether you've seen all of them, a few of them, or somehow, none of them, there's one Marvel superhero movie that you definitely need to keep your eye on; Captain Marvel!

Forget Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Hulk! Okay, don't actually forget them, they're all cool superheroes, but make room in your memory banks for the incredibly powerful Carol Danvers!

Fans of Captain Marvel have been waiting for her to get the recognition she so deserves for a long time, and in 2018, that will finally happen! While the movie is still 4 years away, that hasn't stopped fans from expressing their excitement in the best way possible, fan-casting!

Everyone from Emily Blunt to Kristen Bell have been the subject of a Captain Marvel fancast- but so far, Marvel hasn't revealed who they want to play the character come 2018. Until today...well, sort of.

Kevin Feige Totally Approves Of Ronda Rousey As Captain Marvel!

There hasn't been any confirmation on who Marvel is considering for Captain Marvel, but if anyone is in the lead yet, my money's on Ronda Rousey. Why? Because the head of Marvel himself loves the idea!

During the recent Avengers: Age of Ultron Q&A, Marvel Exec Kevin Fiege expressed his views on the UFC fighter taking on the role of Carol Danvers in 2018. To everyone's surprise, instead of saying something like "We'll just have to wait and see", Feige went full on nerd mode and expressed his excitement!

"I love it. That happens occasionally, and I think that’s a testament more to the strength of the characters. Going back to my early days at Marvel, there were always various people campaigning to be Wolverine. I guess that was pre-Twitter and pre-Internet days, but still for some reason would pop up in Wizard Magazine. Wizard Magazine would always have ‘this person wants to play this role!’ It’s a testament to how great the characters are that it appeals to such a wide range of talented, talented people."

So it's safe to say that Kevin Feige is totally fine with Ronda Rousey playing Captain Marvel! Of course, this doesn't actually mean she will, but if you were ever going to audition for a Marvel movie, having the president of Marvel Studios on your side is not bad at all!

For the record, I'm also totally on Team Ronda when it comes to the Captain Marvel casting! Why? I'm glad you asked! Allow me to tell you in the best way I know how—here are 3 reasons why Ronda Rousey is the perfect candidate for Captain Marvel!

1. She Can Fight (Obviously)!

If you're going to be a superhero, you're more than likely going to have to know how to fight- unless your some sort of pacifist superhero, in which case you fight crime with kind words and the power of love!

Captain Marvel knows how to fight, she could take on The Hulk if she needs to! Luckily, Ronda Rousey also knows how to fight, and although she probably couldn't take on The Hulk in a fair fight (most real people couldn't), she's strong enough to be the UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion! I'm not going to pretend I know what "Bantamweight" means, but I know what champion means, and Ronda certainly is one!

She's definitely accomplished quite a lot over the years! Her aforementioned champion status, her upcoming biopic, and the fact that she took out an opponent in just 34 SECONDS!! If Ronda were to play Captain Marvel, I fear for anyone who stands in her way.

2. She's One Of Hollywood's Most Wanted!

On top of being a bad-ass UFC champion, Ronda Rousey is also an actress! She hasn't been in a lot, with her most notable roles being cameos in Furious 7 and Entourage- but all of that is about to change, as Hollywood is looking to expand Rousey's acting career!

Like I said before, Ronda Rousey is getting her own biopic sometime in the future, and in a surprising turn of events, she's playing herself. After all, who better to portray Ronda Rousey than...Ronda Rousey?

Not only will Ronda be playing herself, she'll also be playing the lead role in the upcoming Roadhouse reboot! She may not have a lot of credits to her name, and I'm not really sure how well she can act, but for her to be the lead role in a reboot of Roadhouse, a treasured classic, Hollywood clearly sees something in here- something that definitely could make her worthy of being Captain Marvel!

3. She Actually Looks A Lot Like The Character!

Some might say that looks aren't the most important thing when it comes to portraying a role, but when that role is an iconic superhero, it's best to look a little like the character. Robert Downey Jr. looks like Tony Stark, Chris Evans looks like Captain America, and J.K. Simmons' portrayal and appearance as J. Jonah Jameson in the Spider-Man trilogy was so spot-on that I'm still not 100% certain that he isn't actually the character who somehow came to life!

So while things like acting skills and performance are of course incredibly important, playing a superhero is usually easier when you look even a little like said superhero- it isn't required all the time, but it helps bring the character to life. In the case of Ronda Rousey, she'll have no trouble passing as Captain Marvel in a live-action film!

Rousey looks incredibly similar to Carol Danvers, and considering her aforementioned fighting skills and Hollywood status, she's got a good chance of getting to play the character.

Absolutely nothing related to Captain Marvel has been confirmed or announced, and it doesn't look we'll be getting any announcements this year. Kevin Feige's opinion of Ronda Rousey as Captain Marvel doesn't necessarily mean she'll get the part either- but I for one am definitely rooting for her!

She's got the skills for it, and has expressed her desire to portray the character time and time again. So why not let her prove that she's got the chops for it? Besides, Emily Blunt is probably going to be the new Mary Poppins, so that fan favorite Captain Marvel is probably out the window.
