The CW Orders 5 Additional Scripts for iZombie!
The second season of iZombie hasn't even premiered yet and already The CW has ordered five more scripts for the show.
Returning to air on October 6, that takes the episode total up to 18 episodes this season - but does this mean there is hope for an additional four to make the standard 22 episode season?
Showrunner Rob Thomas sure hopes so!
"If we only get 13 episodes, we are going to be in big trouble. I'm structuring this season like we're doing 22. If we don't get a back-nine order and end up only doing 13, it will just feel like the water cut off midstream."
"So we're putting a little extra spice on that 13th episode and hoping for the best. If not ... well, let's just say the fans would not be happy where we leave off."
Well, if that doesn't leave you with warm fuzzy feelings, I don't know what will!
In addition to the first season being released on DVD last Tuesday, the complete Season 1 will make it's debut on Netflix the same day as the first episode of Season 2 returns to TV.
The show is based on the 2010-2012 DC Comics/Vertigo series created by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred but with some changes. The protagonist goes by Gwen in the comics which also happens to feature ghosts and werewolves; both of which will not be making their way to the TV series.
Made for TV by Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright, iZombie stars Rose McIver, Malcolm Goodwin, Rahul Kohli, Robert Buckley and David Anders.
I, personally am a huge fan of this news. I loved the first season and I really, really hope they can create an equally, if not better, second season!
