As I was eagerly drinking in every second of The Flash Season 2 trailer, I couldn't help but catch sight of a familiar face around the 54 second mark. Sure enough, Clancy Brown's General Wade Eiling has returned to wreak more havoc on Central City in general and the Flash in particular. But check out the General's sweet new duds! It looks as though Eiling has majorly upgraded his arsenal since last season. He's wearing what appears to be some sort of power armor. But where did it come from? We know that Eiling's smart, brilliant even, but he's not technologically savvy enough to whip up something as incredibly complicated as this armor seems to be. So what are some possibilities for where he got it then?
He Stole the Suit from S.T.A.R. Labs
Eiling is known for having a long history with S.T.A.R. Labs, and specifically with Doctor Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne. Considering that Thawne and Eiling had a pretty serious falling out over the whole Grodd incident, it's pretty unlikely that Eiling went back to S.T.A.R. Labs for a "refrigerator raid" after having been previously incarcerated in the Pipeline. Also, even if he did go back to S.T.A.R. Labs, why did they have such a suit to begin with? Did Thawne create it? If so, what purpose did he have for its use? If Cisco built it, why hasn't the trailer mentioned a break-in? For now, let's just table the S.T.A.R. Labs option and look at the more likely possibility...
He Got the Suit from LexCorp
Now I know what you're thinking! You're thinking that there's no proof LexCorp even exists in the DCTV universe... yet. But what if this is the subtle introduction to it? We know that it's one of the two largest companies in the DC universe, so it's likely that it exists somewhere within the context of the television universe as well. And we all know what LexCorp specializes in: Military technology. That being said, Eiling could use his former position as a ploy to score some incredible tech for himself. But there's more proof than that. Eiling fits perfectly with the profile of stereotypical LexCorp clientele: Ex-military, on the run from the authorities, and holds a vendetta against a superhero.
So, just to recap, while it is possible that Eiling got his new suit by stealing it from S.T.A.R. Labs, it's more probable that he got it from LexCorp. Either way, I'm curious to see how The Flash Season 2 will explain where Eiling got his new suit, and I'm seriously hoping that LexCorp has something to do with it!
