Burning Bodhi, a 2014 independent drama, will finally be viewed before an audience. The announcement was made recently on the film’s official Facebook page.
It will make its world premiere at the 2015 Austin Film Festival on Saturday, November 1st at 8:30 p.m.
The film, in addition to Kaley Cuoco, also stars Cody Horn, Sasha Pieterse, Landon Liboiron, Eli Vargas and Virginia Masden, was written and directed by Matthew McDuffie.
It was shot on location in New Mexico in 2014.
Burning Bodhi is about a group of lifelong friends who gather after learning that one of their friends has suddenly died. Lives and relationships are seriously reexamined in the wake of their loss.
Kaley Cuoco reportedly cut short her famous long hair for Burning Bodhi.
It is hoped that the film will open the doors for more leading dramatic roles. Most of her adult acting career has been playing comedic characters.
Her last prior role in a drama was in a rather small part (as a character named Wanda) in 2012’s The Last Ride, a film about the final days of singer Hank Williams.
In the same year, she also played the late Stacy Peterson in the TV movie, Drew Peterson: Untouchable.
Of course, much more is riding on the November 1 world premiere of Burning Bodhi at the 2015 Austin Film Festival. It opens the proverbial flood gates for discussion with potential distributors which will ultimately enable the film to be seen by the widest possible audience.
