Will Smith appears to be turning back the clock on his career, in a good way! With his recent return to the studio, Smith recorded his first guest track since 2004's 'Switch' with the Colombian band Bomba Estéreo.
Well Will is ready to take things back even further in his acting career by bringing back Michael Bay's 1995 classic, Bad Boys, and it's 2003 sequel Bad Boys 2. The news of Bad Boys 3 and 4 was confirmed back in August with the release of Sony's upcoming movie slate, but we haven't heard much on the matter since.
Initial reports confirmed that Smith would be involved in the project, but we're still not sure as to whether that means a role in front of the camera, or strictly behind it.
As a guest on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 Radio show, Will Smith gave us an optimistic timeline for Bad Boys 3, saying that we can expect to see the sequel pretty soon, saying:
There's a very, very, very strong possibility that you will be seeing a Bad Boys within the next 12 to 16 months.
I guess we'll just have to wait a little while longer to see whether he and Martin Lawrence come back to play Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett.
But that's not all! Will Smith is also still getting his groove on in the studio and will hopefully have a myriad of fresh tunes for us soon.
I've got a lot of young artists and young philosophers trying to help me extract the ideas from my mind and my heart. But I probably have 30 songs — six to seven that I really, really like.
Furthermore, the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star will hopefully go on tour with his partner in crime Jazzy Jeff.
I'm hoping this summer is the first time we go out on a full world tour. I'm terrified.
In the meantime, we can expect to see Will Smith killing it as Deadshot in Suicide Squad premiering on August 5, 2016.
