The Trikonia Mission

With such an urgent distress call, we immediately began our journey through time and space and arrived in a matter of minutes at our destination. Trikonia was just below. Initial scans indicate that it is a planet very similar to Venus in our solar system in many ways.

However, unlike Venus, Trikonia seems to have an atmosphere that would support an Earth-like environment. Though hot all over the surface like the Tropics back on Earth, the thick cloud cover prevents most of the light from going all the way through to the surface. There are many varied signs of life all over the surface. The flora and fauna of this strange world all appear to be in motion near the origin point of the message. There seems to be a battle going on. Although there were no signs of technology in the usual sense there appears to be a very advanced and sophisticated civilization on the planet below. The original point of the message has the appearance of an ancient Mayan stepped pyramid.

At the top of the pyramid was a glowing energy crystal, which seems to be the source of the transmission.

We needed a bit more information. Unfortunately, Chris has never been here before either. All we could do is plan an expedition to find out what's going on here.

We teleported down to the planet's surface, close to the pyramid, but just out of sight from the battle. The pyramid was nowhere to be seen and there wasn't any battles raging.

Wolf: "Um, where is the pyramid? And why isn't there any battle going on here?"

Spike: "Uh, guys, look at the chronometer."

We looked at our chronometers and to our surprise, they all said that it was the year 6763, not 7263. Somehow we had traveled back in time 500 years!

Wolf's Bane: "That's not all, my scanners indicate the ruins of a civilization, not a current one!"

Warhead: "And we are on the opposite side of the planet from the pyramid!"

Awesome George: "My magic is working backwards!!!"

Spike: "And not all of my powers are functioning correctly."

Dark Wolf: "I'd say that this planet is somehow responsible for our current predicament."

BK: "I cannot contact Chris telepathically."

WarHead: "So we're trapped here, 500 years in this planet's past and no way to get off this rock?!"

BK: "So it would seem."

We had no choice but to start walking towards the general direction of the last known coordinates of the pyramid. Hopefully, we wont have any oceans to cross, because the scanners on board the ship couldn't pinpoint landmasses and oceans because of some sort of interference. As we slowly made our journey eastwards, we came across a strange rock formation. Suddenly, it came to life and began to attack us! We were virtually defenseless against it, so we did like anyone else would do. We ran away as fast as we could!

Once we were safely away from it, we resumed our trek across the wilderness.

Hours later we came to the foothills and a mountain chain. Several hours later we came to a cave. It would be darker soon as the planet's night time would begin. So we trudged into the mouth of the cave, fully intending to make camp there. A few more hours pass as we make camp for the night. Suddenly, out of the darkness, comes a terrible roaring, screeching, howling (all at once), unearthly kind of sound. Whatever it was, it was getting closer by the minute. And there it was, in the opening of one of the cave tunnels. As it begins to attack, we all run out of the cave and into the night.

We are virtually defenseless again. We need some sort of weapon as we cannot continue to run away from things that attack us. Our magic runs backwards. Our powers are almost useless. and our technology is inadequate for defending ourselves. As we ventured into the night, we came across some ruins. As we began to explore the ruins, we came across an old armory. Inside, we found these:

They seem to help our magic to work right, as well as some of our powers. They're a kind of a crystal weapon. And they can emit a beam of some sort of energy that can obliterate an opponent! We weren't defenseless anymore!

The Long Journey

As the days turn into weeks, and weeks into months, and months into years, we continued on our long journey to the coordinates of the pyramid. We've met many of the people that live here on this world, and battled many strange creatures here as well. We've crossed many mountains and valleys, forded every stream and river we came across, and now we face a huge ocean. Nearby is a little coastal village.

Kind of picturesque. A really charming little village from the looks of it. Reminds me of a picture I saw back on Earth. So, we decided to enter the village. From our previous encounters of this planet's inhabitants, we've learned to be careful. While some are friendly, others can be down right hostile to strangers. Especially since we're obviously not one of the locals. And each region seems to have it's own set of customs. So misunderstandings can happen quite frequently between various regions.

"Who are you? And why are you here?" one of the villagers demanded. "No one comes to Rimmörk Klo."

"We are strangers here. We only want to find a way to cross the ocean to the land on the other side."

"And why does no one come here?" we asked.

"Because Rimmörk Klo does not welcome strangers!" he said in a raised voice. "There's land on the other side?" he asked much more quietly.

"Yes, but it is a long way from here, and we need to find a way to cross over to it."

In a hushed tone, almost a whisper, he said, "I knew it! Unfortunately, to cross the Svarta Vattenorg, one would need a miracle! There are many strange things in those waters, and the storms...."

"All attempts to sail the Svarta Vattenorg have ended in disaster. Every ship we've launched was sunk by one thing or another."

"So there's no way to cross?"

"Didn't say that exactly. I knew of one that claimed to have sailed across to the land on the other side, but that's the stuff of legends and tall tales." he said with a wink.

He motioned us to follow him and he led us to a cave with a underground lake. And there on the dock was an old sailboat. The ship was huge!

"I am one of the few people that even knows it's here," he said. "It's been here for over 100 years, and it looks like it hasn't aged a day!"

"Has anyone tried to sail her?" asked Dark Wolf.

"No one knows how to make her go," he said sadly.

"We'd like to give it a shot," said Black Knight.

"But there is only 7 of you. It would take at least 100 men to row it out into the open so the wind would catch in the sails."

"You said that no one has been able to make her go. So if you had 100 or more men on board already, you should have been able to make her go."

"It wont leave here!"

"You say that as though she had a mind of her own."

"Yes, it does."

We all went on board this curious ship. There was something mystical about her. We could all sense the magic bound in her. And our crystal weapons were all glowing very brightly.

"The one you said went across the ocean, did he know magic by any chance?"

"Not sure. No one ever really knew him," he said. "Your weapons started glowing the moment we came on board."

"Yes, they are glowing. I think it's because of the magic bound up in this ship."

Suddenly, we all see something materialize right in front of us, towards one end of the ship.

"Who are you, and why have you disturbed me?" demanded the apparition.

"We are strangers here, and only seek a way to cross the ocean to the land on the other side."

"You are not from this world," it stated.

"No, we are not. We've traveled a long ways from our world to your world. We were only answering a distress call. But somehow we got trapped here in this time period. The distress call was from about 475 years from now."

The villager was shocked to hear this, as we hadn't told him everything, until now.

"Why do you seek to go to the other side?" asked the apparition.

"Because the origin of the distress call was centered around a large glowing crystal at the top of a pyramid in the middle of the other land mass."

"I can take you across, but one of you will have to become a part of this ship, just as I did."

"So that's why he disappeared," whispered the villager.

"Yes, that is why I disappeared. And so must you, Lilla Människan."

"Me? Why me?' asked the villager. In our haste, we'd forgotten to ask the villager's name.

"Because you know too much, and I can't let anyone else know of this ship's existence. And besides, someone must make the sacrifice in order for the Svart Klang to have the power to fly across again."

"Fly?!" we all said in unison.

"Yes, how else could we get there without being sunk by the creatures below?"

"Ok then. I will make the sacrifice," said Lilla.

And with that, both began to glow brightly... and then they were gone. The oars came out and the ship was moving towards the opening in the cave where the ocean came into the cave. Once we were out in the open, the ship began to fly into the air above the water!

We couldn't help but recall hearing all those stories about the Flying Dutchman.

The Long Fight Across The Ocean

After a very long several months and many storms, we came to the midpoint of our journey across the Svarta Vattenorg (their way of saying "Dark Waters"). We could all tell that another storm was brewing. But this one seemed much more intense than any of the previous storms. The "Captain" (the one that appeared to us before we began our voyage near the village of Rimmörk Klo ,Dark Claw, informed us that a borkana (their word for hurricane) was brewing. The island of the Död Odjuret (Death Beast) was just nearby. The Död Odjuret was sure to come out with the borkana a brew'n. We had no idea what this Död Odjuret was, or why the Captain was even worried. But we were certainly going to find out, and soon.

After several hours, the winds were extremely strong. The sea was churning. The waves, very high. The rain, torrential. Then suddenly, we heard it. Then we saw it. When we saw it, it reminded us of those old Japanese monster movies, because it looked like Ghidorah! We had no time to ponder all of this, because it was attacking!

The whole ship began to glow with an eerie green glow. And then it leaped from the ship to the monster! This happened numerous times. But the monster kept coming and attacking. We raised our crystal weapons and fired at it, but it didn't seem to phase it in the very least. Normally, this would obliterate most things we aim them at, but not this thing!

Then, with a concentrated effort between us and the ship, we launched what we thought was our final assault on the beast. The green glow, along with our crystal weapons, what superpowers we could muster, plus our must devastating spell, and the stupid thing was still alive!!!!!

It attacked again and again. It was relentless. Death Beast was a very good name for it. We were at a loss for words. We couldn't understand why nothing even phased it. Then the Captain spoke, "The Död Odjuret is impervious to all of our attempts to stop it, let alone, destroy it. But it does have one weakness."

"What's that?" we all asked.

"It can drown in the water," he said. At the top of his voice, he said, "Batten down the hatches! Drop the sails!" Then to us he said, "Go below the decks, quickly, and then you will see!"

As we went below, the sails dropped and the hatch shut and locked behind us. Then, with the creature following us, we plunged into the depths of the sea. When we popped up again, we could see through the portholes that the thing was in the water, and sinking fast! Try as it might, it could not stop sinking! It was too heavy! Suddenly, we were attacked from below!

"It's the Hav Djur!" exclaimed the Captain. "Raise the sails and fly aloft!"

We were in the air again. And with that, the rest of the voyage was, for the most part, uneventful. Except for that one little incident with the Fligandin Odjur (the Flying Beast). This took place about 3/4 of our journey across the Svarta Vattenorg.

First we heard it, then we saw it. We took care of it with one blast from our crystal weapons! "Ok, that was easy!" exclaimed Dark Wolf.

Then it multiplied from the pieces!

"Ok, maybe not so easy," said Wolf's Bane.

So, we cast a spell to obliterate all the pieces, as we trained our crystal weapons on each one. This seemed to work, until the particles started to generate new Fligandin Odjur!!!! Then, the Captain spoke, "Foolish outlanders! The Fligandin Odjur can only be destroyed by Faith!"

"Um... faith in what?"

"Faith in the Glödanden Sten, which you seek!"

He was obviously referring to the glowing crystal at the top of the pyramid. Questions, questions. Always more questions in our minds about this strange world. We had heard this name before, but never quite like this! It had to refer to the glowing crystal on top of the stepped pyramid that we saw from Chris. We all joined hands, and telepathically searched for the crystal on top of the pyramid. When we found it, we were surprised at hearing a familiar voice!

It was Chris!

She just barely remembered us, but she was in her embryo stage. This is where she came from, but she didn't remember it!!! The file transfer from the alternate time line had gone back this far, but somehow, she had forgotten her origins by the time we met her. We linked with her and filled in all of the blanks that we could. And the link also provided the info we needed in our current predicament.

We had what we needed to defeat the Fligandin Odjur (which looked a lot like a flying spaghetti monster!) With our hands still held together, we chanted the spell to obliterate all traces of the monster. It worked! And all of them disappeared! The rest of our trip was fairly uneventful, except for a few storms, which we were able to go through.

**************************************************

Upon arrival at our destination, the land mass was huge! But the ship kept on flying... It flew us to the center of the continent, where the pyramid was!!

When it landed, the Captain said, "Now you can be reunited with you friend!"

We all wondered at how he knew!

**************************************************

475 years later, a thriving, advanced civilization can be found. All regions are now united under the benevolent control of Chris and the Dark Wolves (or Mörka Vargar as we were called). It has been an era of peace. In all this time, we have never once heard anyone mention the Gramleks, or even hinted at what they could possibly be. Suddenly, we were attacked by a variety of plant and animal creatures that we'd never seen before.

"The Gramleks are attacking! The Gramleks are attacking!" went the cry throughout the planet.

Time Loop # 425!

With Lucifer's direct intervention, we were unable to continue to help Cap and his friends. Suddenly, we got an urgent message from someone in the Andromeda Galaxy, from a planet called Trikonia, circa 7263.

"We are in grave danger! Request assistance immediately. The Gramleks are atta...."

We teleported down to the planet's surface, close to the pyramid, but just out of sight from the battle, so we supposed. The pyramid was nowhere to be seen, and there weren't any battles raging.

Wolf: "Um, where is the pyramid? And why isn't there any battles going on here?"

We looked at our chronometers and to our surprise, they all said that it was the year 6763, not 7263. Somehow we had traveled back in time 500 years!

Warhead: "And we are on the opposite side of the planet from the pyramid!"

Awesome George: "My magic is working backwards!!!"

It was THEN, that they all realized that all of this had happened before!

"Time Loop?", asked one of them.

"Yes. I believe it t'is," said Black Knight. "Now the tricky part. How to get out!"

Time Loop # 30526

"Ok, this is getting very old, very quickly!"

Time Loop # 500026

"We've tried everything, but to no avail."

Time Loop # 600046

"Ok. this is getting extremely annoying now!"

Time Loop # 100,042,635

"I think we're missing something here," said Black Knight. "What did Lucifer do to us?"

"Chris, show us the replay!"

"Dark energy forms in the circle of Christian Wolfs onboard Chris. As it solidifies their chants are disrupted."

Earlier that day: "Lucifer was watching the proceedings from his office when the monitors went blank.

"Hmm, I detect the work of the lovely Ms. Stein," he murmurs. Pressing the intercom button he summons two mages and a tech team.

"Get this video feed up and running, or else you will all be having a very bad day," Lucifer says through a threatening smile. As the technicians worked to restore the security feed through a backup server, the mages approached.

"Mr. Smith, Sir...we are detecting...some type of magic in the building from an outside source," the one named Tremaine stammered. "It seems as though someone is attempting to erect a protective spell around the intruders."

"You don't say?" Lucifer answers. He calms his mind and reaches out, searching for the source of the spell. Stretching...reaching...THERE.

Lucifer chuckles. "Oh my, what a pleasant surprise. The Christian dogs and their glassy spaceship are sticking their noses into my business."

Lucifer opens a desk drawer and reaches inside, he pulls out a note pad labeled "to do" list.

1) Corrupt Cap

2) Foment Unrest in the Balkans...again

3) Desert Storm III hahah

4) Torment Bucky, Bucky and Ms. Stein

5) Figure out DVR on satellite dish

6) Israel + Hamas = Fun Times!

7) Deal With Christian Werewolves

There!! At the bottom...

"Well, I suppose I can move them up the list," Lucifer thinks. He absorbs magic power from the two mages, instantly killing them. Augmented with their puny skills, Lucifer creates a blocking spell to pierce the protective bubble before it can encircle the interlopers.

"That should take care of the problem," Lucifer says.

Almost as an afterthought, Lucifer sends a wave of dark energy directly at the crystalline ship. "That should give the hounds something to occupy their time...and perhaps that delicate little ship will develop a crack or two. Wouldn't that be terrible?"

Lucifer's final move is to create a shield around the warehouse, ensuring there will be no more outside interference. He scribbles a note on the list...something about finding a "permanent" solution for the werewolves and their ship.

But that must wait for another day...at that moment the monitors flash to life. The technicians have restored the security feed, lucky for them.

Lucifer folds his hands behind his back. He sends his thoughts to the magic-users preparing to face the invaders. "Here is a special summoning spell you can use specifically for my buddy Private Avenger," as he implants the arcane knowledge into the mind of one of his more talented pupils. "I'm sure he'll enjoy the surprise."

Lucifer smiles. This should be good..."

"Very interesting. Very interesting indeed!" exclaimed Black Knight.

The Dark Wolves began to chant a spell to reveal all of the damage done by Lucifer's Dark Energy attack.

Once revealed, Chris began repairing everything that she could. but, it was not enough. There were a few Time Circuits that she couldn't repair. They would need to be repaired manually. This was determined to be the cause of the time loop.

There was one who has heard the telepathic calls of the trapped Werewolves. Jace Beleren the Mindsculptor, planeswalker of infamous genius has been traveling the universe since the return of the humans from Ice Ray Academy as well as the Inkling searching for traces of Zerocurew the Dracolich and Lloth, the Drow Spiderqueen. He is well aware of the conflicts that have led them to this point and has visualized a plan that will not only benefit them but help stop the spread of an old evil too. He travels aboard the ship and peaceably greets the famous crew. "While none of you have ever met me before, I have followed your exploits for many months. There are few half humans as well known in SHC as you and I am here to help you out. You can subject me to any tests you wish if you doubt my good will, I can sense you have mistrust for me because I was a friend of the one once known as Chad Rockwell/ Errtu the Traitorous Balor."

"Well, I don't know how famous we are, but we are glad for any assistance you can give us," said Black Knight. "It would appear that Lucifer's attack on us has damaged some of Chris' time circuits. And this has been determined to be the cause of the time loop we have been trapped in. Chris has been able to repair most of the damage done to her but the time circuits have to be repaired manually. And we lack some of the knowledge and expertise necessary to complete the repairs."

"The ability to travel through time is something I have not yet mastered effortlessly," Jace said to the Dark Wolves. "Because of this I am not yet able to return to the past, or bring others from the past. However I do have a fellow planeswalker who has studied this longer then I ever have. I will use my magic to plot a course in Chris's navigational computers to the planet he can be found residing at. Planet I say, even though the term "plane" would be more appropriate." Within a few minutes the course was set and soon the ship and those aboard were on their way.

During our voyage there, Black Knight took a look at the damaged time circuits and asked Chris if there was any way to repair them.

"We don't have the materials on board, neither can they be found on the planet where the distress call originates from," said Chris.

"Well, hopefully Jace's friend can help us somehow."

In a few hours, the ship arrives in orbit. Jace sends a message to his friend Karn the only known artificially created planeswalker. "Karn, this is Jace. I have brought with me some freedom fighters to help you and the leonin reclaim Mirrodin from the Phyrexians. However I will need you to meet them first."

A few minutes later, a huge metallic figure appears aboard the ship. "Jace... it has been a few decades since you or other non Dominarian 'walkers visited my world of Mirrodin," it speaks in a slow booming voice to the werewolf crew. "Up until this last year I would have not allowed any newcomers access to this home I created with my magic and spark because I had been infected by the corrosion and evil of the race that has almost entirely claimed here as their own. My name is Karn and I am a golem brought alive by the 'walker Urza. If I can be of any assistance to you I will if only you can help me and Jace to cleanse my world of the evil from within."

"Hello, my name is Black Knight. The crystalline ship you are on, calls herself Chris. She's a living machine of sorts, crystal based. A being called Lucifer sent his dark energy on board and damaged Chris's time circuits, which put us in a time loop when we answered a distress call from a planet in the Andromeda galaxy. It turns out this this was Chris's homeworld, but she was in her infant state at the time as a small glowing crystal on top of a stepped pyramid. And we had been sent 500 years into the planet's past from the point in the future that we had originally arrived at. You see, Chris is not only a spaceship, she's also a time-ship."

"Chris informs us that we didn't have the materials on board to repair her time circuits, but hopefully, we can find them here. Once they have been repaired, we can end the time loop that we have been trapped in on her home planet," said Dark Wolf. "Oh, and my name is Dark Wolf."

"And we'd be glad to help you in any way that we can," we all told our new friends.

"Oh, I think that we should all finish introducing ourselves. My name is Spike. Nice to met you."

"And of course I'm called Dark Wolf. Pleasure to meet you."

Karn is silent for a few minutes. Jace is unsure what his friend is thinking. Finally Karn speaks. "I was just conferring with Chris here concerning the records on his construction and this being named Lucifer. The metal in question he requires can only be found in Mirrodin's core. It is a dangerous place because that is where the monstrosities that now plague here came from.

Jace grimaces. "Karn, it will take both of us combining our magic to shield this brave group of heroes." Turning to Black Knight and the others he explains. "The Phyrexians carry with them a type of infection that zombifies those they come in contact with and makes them contagious. Think of it like SHC's zombies in metal like Astronikus's drones and you will get a basic idea how powerful they are."

"We aren't your run-of-the-mill werewolves. We're telepathic, have superpowers, and can do some magic of our own. Oh, and I'm called Wolf." He said with a smile.

"Well if Chris needs some material from a very dangerous place here, then we'll get it for her. And I'm Wolf's Bane."

"Perhaps it's possible to combine all of our magic to protect us while we travel there and back. Of course you guys' magic may be different than ours. Don't know if they would be compatible or not. By the way, I'm Awesome George. At you service."

"Wolves with magic and superpowers hmmm?" Karn says in reply. "Truly the universe has changed a whole lot in the past 200 years or so since I left my planet. But I shall grant to you whatever upgrades you require in terms of weapons or armor here for I happen to be an artificer."

"We're actually quite a unique little group of werewolves, even back on Earth. And we can change at will. And any improvements to our weapons and armor would help a lot," said Black Knight. "For some reason, we still have the Crystal Weapons from Chris's home planet that we found. Usually, they disappear when the loop starts again. This time seems to be different somehow. Of course none of this has happened before either. Perhaps they can be useful here as they enhance both our magic and our superpowers."

After Black Knight finishes talking, Karn smiles. "Well far be it from me to delay you any more then is required. All of you and Jace, I invite you into my workshop." Opening up a magical gateway into the Aether between dimensions, he walks in and for miles around are different pieces of unknown metals and weapons and armor that the werewolves can see. "Here on Mirrodin, artifacts play a big role for my people," Karn explains. "I have been working hard to help upgrade the Resistance's equipment since the lone human who could resist the infectious nature of the Phyresis contagion was snatched away some months ago. Feel free to look around and see if any of this can be of usage to you." He also uses his magic to bring them warm food to eat and new clothing too and yes even Chris can fit inside.

Our crystal weapons had been glowing ever since we came here to Mirrodin. And now, here in this place, they glowed very brightly from all of the magic in this place on Mirrodin. There were armor and weapons of all kinds here as far as the eye could see.

After what seemed like hours, we came across some very unique crystal armor, swords, and shields.

They were very beautiful, and seemed to fit us perfectly. They also seemed to augment and enhance our powers and magic in much the same way the crystal weapons do.

"These are cool!" exclaimed Wolf and WarHead.

"We all seem to like these very well," said Dark wolf. Everyone agreed.

"And thanks for the food and new clothes," said Wolf's Bane. Everyone nodded in agreement.

"You know, I had an interesting thought," said Black Knight. "I'm wondering if the crystal weapons we found on Trikonia were made by the same people or person that made these. They all seem to be a set. They even all glow the same way and with the same intensity."

"An interesting question," said Spike.

"So you have discovered the Legacy collection," Karn says to the Dark Wolves. "A very long time ago it was collected by my creator Urza Planeswalker following his first encounters with the Phyrexian horde. He had hoped to someday use these artifacts of great power to fully defeat the Lord of Phyrexia and at one time I was part of this collection. However even the best laid plans can be ruined and in this case though Yawgmoth was destroyed, no one was ever aware that the heartstone Urza used to awaken me and give me life was corrupted with their oil and that is how Phyrexians came to Mirrodin. For hundreds of years I have used my goodly powers to keep their infection from spreading onward but my powers are reaching their limit."

Jace explains ""You see, Karn only has left Mirrodin twice since he created it. It was after the Phyrexian Invasion of Dominaria was finally repelled and he realized he was a planeswalker in the aftermath of that terrible struggle. Karn knew that he needed a place of solitude to learn what he could of his powers and carry on the legacy of his creator. Mirrodin was created as a test of Karn's power and he left a guardian to watch over it while he left to continue his task of safeguarding Dominaria from other threats. What he never knew until way later was that this guardian, whom I shall refer henceforth to as Memnarch, had become corrupted by the oil. He used its power to create a barrier around the world and for thousands of Mirrodin years ruled as a god. This barrier was so powerful Karn was unable to return to Mirrodin and was trapped in an exile to the Aether between the planes or worlds of the universe."

"Memnarch used his powers to collect beings from Dominaria and brought them to Mirrodin as sort of a twisted scientific experiment and ruled as their god. Only the Trolls knew how to stop him but their power was far from enough and due to their reclusive natures the other races distrusted them. A few hundred years ago an elf named Glissa was born. The trolls immediately knew she was the one they had long awaited to help free Mirrodin from Memnarch but unfortunately so did he too. He sent his machine hordes to wipe out her village. There were few survivors that tragic day."

"Glissa swore revenge and began the journey that ended with Memnarch's destruction. She traveled all over the outer world of Mirrodin meeting the different tribes that made up society here. Eventually she discovered that Mirrodin was actually hollow and figured out in her own thoughts that the core was where Memnarch resided. Furious, he used his powers over artifacts to cause great natural disasters to stop her and her companions when his armies couldn't defeat her. Eventually though, she used a powerful artifact weapon and was able to fully destroy him. But the caused an even greater calamity none were prepared for because upon his death, all but the newest generation of Mirrodins were sent back to Dominaria. In one brief moment they lost their history and everything that made them a society and wars sprang up between the surviving races as they fought to see who would rule Mirrodin. That is when the long dormant Phyrexians struck."

""You see, during his exile Karn returned to Dominaria many times to look over and see how society had survived after the invasion was defeated there. On his travels he met a fiery haired young woman named Jeska (forerunner of Jenna Firemage) and saw that she had the magical power or "spark" to become a powerful planeswalker like himself. Karn brought her from Dominaria with him on his first visit there and for the remainder of his exile tutored her until she was nearly as strong as him."

"A few years ago a great upheaval shook the Multiverse as we call it or as you call it the universe. For millennium unknown to even the planeswalkers themselves, their great magic and constant battles between themselves and the Phyrexians resulted in Dominaria being the focus of a series of time loops like the one I found you in. It was theorized by one of the few walkers to survive the Invasion that if these were not repaired quickly the whole universe was doomed. Similar to when Angela Volden traveled through time to save Super Hero City from past threats turned future menaces, Teferi recruited the last of the planeswalkers of his generation and before him too. He had discovered that in order to patch these "time rifts" each 'walker had to give up their spark. The reason behind this is because due to a lack of magical regeneration, Dominaria no longer had any magic on its plane and being then the center of the Multiverse if it could not be rejuvenated with the return of magic life on all planets was doomed. Karn was chosen for this important mission to travel back in time because only he was powerful enough at time magic to close the rift on the isle of the Tolarian Academy where for hundreds of years before the invasion Urza and his mortal companion wizards and female magic users had been creating the plans to repel the invasion when it came. In fact, that is actually where Karn was created and brought to life and where all the pieces of the Legacy were collected at once found. It should come as no surprise that when the Phyrexians struck, this was one of their first conquests. Thousands died that day and the only reason more didn't was the great sage Barin used the last of his life's blood to sacrifice himself to destroy the hordes on the isle he had called home for many hundreds of years. It became a living pyre in remembrance of his short lived child Hanna who was among the first killed by the plagues manufactured by the Phyrexians."

"That spell saved the day but it caused a huge time loop that Karn personally took upon himself to restore. He used up much of his powers to do so, but at a great cost. In the aftermath, the seal was broken allowing the Phyrexians that had long been waiting to begin infiltrating Mirrodin from inside out and Karn returned there to stop them. He did not succeed and for a few centuries he was their literal prisoner within the core until he was revived a few years ago."

Karn resumed the end of the history lesson. "Black Knight, you and your companions have within you loyalty, honesty and goodness I have not sensed in mortals in a very long time. If the Legacy collection can help you out then I shall give it to you freely."

"Wow! That's quite a story!," exclaimed WarHead. The others all agreed.

"We'll do our best to help you. Our journey then will have a twofold purpose as we go to get the materials we need to repair Chris's time circuits. And Chris says that she'll do whatever she can to help as well," added Black Knight.

"How so?" asked Jace and Karn, in unison.

"She can make herself smaller and go with us," said Black Knight. "She's much bigger on the inside anyway. And she told me that she can analyze the Phyrexian Oil - without touching it or needing a sample. Chris thinks that she might be able to come up with a cure for it. Let us all hope so, because that would make things a whole lot easier. Especially if we could spread the cure instead of having to kill everything on sight down there."

"If you can find a way to cure my people and my planet I would be in your debt forever," Karn says solemnly. Using his magic, he displays a map of Mirrodin both inside the planet's surface and above to.

"The enemy has divided itself into five separate factions. The Tangle is where they have started experiments to turn the wildlife into horrible mockery type abominations. Along the Quicksilver Sea, heavy pollution from their wartime factories has caused massive inland flooding and horrible pollution. In the Kuldotha chain of mountains, earthquakes from destruction of mana tubes within the core are causing tectonic instability. In the Razor Fields, the leonin who have not turned traitor have been forced into concentration camps and are being hunted for sport and in the huge swamp, the Nim are being grown massively as plague carriers. While these forces may seem combined, they each have specific inner dissensions I have pinpointed. Stealth and inner sabotage and espionage will be what we need to fully turn them at each other's throats so to speak. "

"However beware for there are three generals who aid the Phyrexian praetors/generals. The first one is the evil planeswalker Tezzeret. He is no Phyrexian recruit, but was sent here by the evil dragon planeswalker Nicol Bolas and in fact was one of my personal captors. In some ways his skills as an artificer are even greater then mine but he is totally scrupulous and without any morals. The second personage to beware of is Glissa herself. I have received horrible confirmation that she returned here with the Phyrexians but as an ugly zombified form of her once beautiful self. She is a ruthless hunter of all that lives and takes particular sport on feeding on the slain elves of her former race after she kills them and can also use her magic to bring destroyed artifacts back to life. Her touch is pure death so be careful. Because she is so feared, she has been renamed "Glissa the Traitor." The last general was once a human warlord named Geth who sought power to command his own army of ravenous zombie Nim. He was supposedly killed before Memnarch was destroyed, but apparently he resurrected himself using his dark powers of necromancy and the Phyrexians enhanced him with a metallic body. He is the one raising the NIm in vast numbers because the swamp his stronghold is in is deadly to all non undead."

"On the 'Bright Side'", said Wolf, "Chris said that she could find a cure for the Phyrexian Oil that contaminates everything. Unfortunately, if she can't, we are in for a lot of trouble."

"Agreed," said Dark Wolf, and many of the others.

"But, we do have the Legacy Collection now," said others. "Maybe that will help us if Chris can't."

"Also agreed," said Black Knight. "Hopefully, Chris CAN find a cure, but if not, WE WILL fight our way to the center of Mirrodin and find what we are looking for. And help our new friends, Jace and Karn, to cleanse this plane of Mirrodin of the infection along the way! If we can! If we can't, we WILL die in the process!"

All pledge their support to what Black Knight has said.

So begins our journey to the center of Mirrodin!

Jace wanted to lead the expedition immediately, but Karn knew that was not a good idea. "Get all the rest you deserve," he said to Black Knight and his fellow werewolves. "Despite the fact Mirrodin has five moons, until you truly know the nature of my planet and of the Phyrexians you will have to travel by daylight so as not to be the victim of their evil snares and traps to capture the raw meat they usually eat."

Jace took Karn aside for a few moments of privacy in a tiny pocket dimension as the others relaxed. "I've found Melinda." he said simply. "That was the task you assigned me when I tricked Zerocurew the Dracolich in the past into becoming "his" bodyguard. It turns out all along she was actually the biological sister of Chad Rockwell now known as The Inkling." Jace then proceeded to fully update Karn on all the events since Chad and his siblings came to Super Hero City with their arcane school. "So you see, I was wrong to have doubted you when you told me things were not at all what they seemed to be. The Inkling has his powers and memories back, Jenna's bloodcurse has been cured, Zerocurew Lloth and Jacob have not been heard from and Chad Hansen-Ricks still has not been located yet."

Karn thinks over this all carefully. "You say that The Angelic Rogue turned Jenna into her own avatar during the battle when the call went to all the surviving 'walkers but me?" "That is correct Karn," he replied. "I sense a darker conspiracy then anything we ever faced with Yawgmoth. This Lucifer and Sin, I have reason to believe they may know the whereabouts of Chad Hansen-Ricks. If the third child of Jeska is not found soon, there will be worse calamities then the Nemesis Star to hit Earth.

"I see," Jace said simply. "You mean The Abyss will return?" "Yes my friend," Karn said simply. "Without the Bloodstone Foundry to seal it away, The Abyss presents a constant dire threat to the safety of Earth and Superhero City. While I may not be able to travel with you back there once our work here is finished, I believe I know someone who would be more then eager to help out. Squee! I know you are hiding nearby. Please come out." A short goblin with a bright intelligence in its eyes crawls out from under some rusted artifacts there in the dimension. Jace's eyes widen in complete shock. "Karn you didn't!" "Jace, I never granted Squee immortality since he already was possessed of an extremely powerful rate of magic regeneration. Even as the cabin boy still during the Invasion, to often we thought him dead but he always came back to life. Even Yawgmoth himself was unable to slay him and he would be a perfect spy to help your friends out here on Mirrodin too."

To the Center of Mirrodin!

The Dark Wolves begin their adventure to the center of Mirodin, along with a few allies. Squee, the goblin, joins them on their quest. Chris shrinks her outside dimensions to about 2 feet across. There was much fighting on our journey to the center of Mirodin.

Finally, at long last, Chis has analysed the Phyrexian Oil. The results show that the only cure is the Bloodstone Foundry, which, unfortunately, CAN cause everyone that comes in contact with this to become evil. She also postulated that the Bloodstone Foundry could also possibly seal a rift (or an "Abyss"), near the Earth.... And she says that the Bloodstone Foundry lies at the very center of Mirodin! And we have to go there!

Chris provides us with a bit more information on the Bloodstone Foundry.

"Made out of crystallized ever boiling human blood it continually pumps out a regenerating evil mist that surrounds all who use it in an aura of never-ending wickedness. Side effects of misuse can include the following: massive psychic or physical trauma as you use it longer, hallucinations, feelings of grandeur and immortality and a small chance of instant death from arcane forces. It can restore the powers of any who were once evil back to their full prime, even if they might have lost memories. All that is required is to have a corrupted longing to do only evil., which the miss use of this item can produce."

It was last seen on Earth, near SHC. The real mystery, how did it get here?

Also, how would one use it to cure the effects of the Phyrexian Oil?

Time will only tell.

"I recognize the foundry well," Karn says to the werewolves after seeing the data on it. "Too well in fact. It was once my artificial heart but somehow when I was revived it was sent to Earth. From what Jace has told me, Sin could very well be a reincarnation of the dreaded Yawgmoth but if he is then he has dramatically stopped using machines to do his dirty work. As for him reclaiming it, as Yawgmoth in his once former human life, the human artificer was purely insane. He was originally a doctor but he began doing experiments intended to fully wipe out disease and sickness. That was truly the one good thing because after that he started a campaign to try to create a race that no longer suffered from any pain. From that sprang the genocidal Phyrexians and they almost wiped out Dominarias as the surviving humans banded with goblins, elves, dwarves and even minotaurs to stop his rise to power. I had hoped with the end of the Invasion when he was reporetedly destroyed the threat was gone forever but I was deadly mistaken."

"When I gained my spark, I had no way of knowing that my heart was no longer producing the energy required to power my then golem form as an artificial machine but instead it began filling me with the Phyrexian Oil that you have seen the dreadful effects of. I surmise that when Memnarch was defeated, the foundry was sent to Earth and once there Sin used his powers to make it begin pumping actual blood instead of oil. This would be critical to his final humanlike transformation as Jace has told me for it seems to have boosted his powers one million fold. But as to how it returned back to Mirrodin I truly have no idea unless he somehow learned I was no longer a Phyrexian prisoner here and intends to corrupt me again!"

Meanwhile inside the core of Mirrodin, the three mentioned generals discuss their plots... "My master is well pleased with the fact that this planet will be his new home after the disaster that prevented him from ruling Alara," Tezzeret said to Glissa and Geth. "But he has issues with the praetors so willing to kill off their own armies rather then work together to fully conquer this planet. He sent me a message saying if they do not stop fighting he might send them to a pathetic desolate piece of space dirt its inhabitants call Earth. There they would be stripped of all their powers and memories and left to survive with no knowledge of who they are. It would be fitting I suppose since according to him he already sent the children of that dangerous walker Jeska there the same way."

"He may be all powerful," Glissa hissed. "But even Nicol Bolas himself has proven he is even less an immortal then our fallen lord Yawgmoth. After all, didn't he recruit you to help bring forth the Maelstrom in thev Alara Galaxy in hopes it would restore his fading magical powers and restore his spark? But instead he was defeated by a very young cat walker. Pathetic that the so-called hunter has become prey. Perhaps he should be replaced."

"You two should stop your squawking and get over here," Geth said. "We have bigger problems since Karn escaped us and you both are worried about a similar being only one of us has ever met? Sensors attached to beasts on the surface have shown that this planet has new arrivals. Glissa they appear to be... talking wolves."

This momentarily startles the once legendary hero turned villainous traitor. and she goes to examine the report Geth is reading "That is very interesting Geth. Some sort of evolutionary leap? But wait they have no metallic implants and they walk like regular beings and not like beasts. I have never heard of anything like this before."

Tezzeret joins them and his eyes light up in surprise. "I had heard stories long ago from my master of humans who suffered the curse of lycanthropy. According to him they were called werewolves. We must be careful indeed for they have the strength of wolves and the intelligence of humans."

A Slight Detour: The Darksteel Juggernaut!

As we made our journey to Mirrodin's Core, we all both saw and heard something odd about this one particular area of the wall of the lacuna we were following. (A lacuna is a gap, or opening from the surface leading to the Core - there are 5 such lacunae, one from each landmass, so we have been told.) The area was huge! And it hummed! And there was a very faint glow about it.

Chris told us that there was something huge encased deep within. Further scans revealed it to be the last of the Darksteel Juggernauts! Apparently, the Darksteel Juggernauts were artifact creatures made of Darksteel - a magical indestructible material found on Mirrodin. It is black in color and has characteristic golden streaks of energy surrounding it. But the Phyrexians feared them and created a gigantic hole in Mirrodin's outer crust, causing whatever was on the surface to plummet into the fiery furnace beneath. A Darksteel Foundry, that is!

Darksteel Juggernauts are known to be both unstoppable and immovable!

And there was one encased deep within this one section of the wall!

The glowing area was slowly getting brighter, and the humming (or should I say drilling) sound was getting louder!

We attempted to make contact with it telepathically, but it didn't respond. When we entered it's mind, we did understand that it had heard us. It simply chose not to respond. We really didn't want to have to fight this thing, but we were hoping that it might help us defeat the Phyrexians.

Slowly, steadily, it got closer to us. Then, it finally broke free of it's prison. We did learn that it had been buried so deep that it took many long years to free itself!

And now it stands before us!

... To be continued!

As the artifact creature broke free, Karn told the others to stay back. "I will try to rewire its command matrix," he said. "If I can, there is a good chance it will want to help us out." Using his magic, Karn delved inside the memories of the juggernaut. Jace translated what he saw.

"Fiery explosions wracking sea earth and sky. The others gone. Their defenses corrupted by the Oil, they went mad and charged into the QuickSilver Sea trying to wash it out before they became infected. But too late, once inside spread to all the centers of intelligence within and those that did not become trapped in the sea turned into this.

"Beware.... beware the myr. They brought this infection upon us as sent by their evil new masters. Once they were the minor servants of Mirrodin after He Who Became God was our ruler, but with his demise they were among the first to be corrupted. It spread like a virus as the contagion grew more powerful among our ranks of artifacts given life before it turned on the less mechanical among biological organisms like yourselves. Others of your kind if uncorrupted could help even though I feel my creator's presence burning brightly inside me. Mirrodin must be freed of its oppressors!"

Karn by then had found the matrix. He explained that depending on how powerful an artifact creature was on Mirrodin, the greater its intelligence. The races that were able to talk with each other did not treat the artifacts as slaves but more as their equals. So when the Phyrexians emerged with their evil abominations that were once machines like this but corrupted beyond reasoning by the oil and generations of constant evolution, the wisdom of the race leaders was that those who were not warriors were to research the effects of theoil and help out the healers and artificers to develop artifacts able to fight the enemy. The others went so far as to begin destroying contaminated artifacts after it became clear the oil was resistant to magic, fire and physical destructions of those it came in contact with.

With Karn's help, the massive Juggernaut was now on our side! It wanted more than anything to help drive out the Phyrexian invaders, after witnessing all the chaos and destruction they caused, and the horrible effects of the oil.

As we slowly made our way towards the center of the Core, new sights and dangers await us.

And a variety of Myr:

"Well," thought Wolf's Bane, "This has certainly been a very exciting journey so far. First, we meet a very large Crystalline spaceship named Chris, who's also telepathic. And she can also travel through time as well as space! We see many new sights and places. And then Lucifer pops up with a hidden explosion of Dark Energy and damages Chris, locking us into a time loop on a rescue mission to a planet in the Andromeda Galaxy called Trikonia. Which turns out to be Chris's homeworld. We meet many new people there, through the 500 years of that planet's history we were trapped in. And now this new adventure with Jace in a place called Mirrodin. Lot's of battles here too. Still need to find the materials to fix Chris's time circuits so we can end the time loop for good, and still help the Trikonians with that Gramlek invasion. And we still need to help Jace and Karn get rid of the Phyrexians, find the Bloodstone Foundry, figure out how to use it to cure the effects of the Phyrexian Oil - and I still have to help take care of these stupid cubs! Gee, a girl's work is never done."

"Hey, I heard that!" said Wolf to Wolf's Bane telepathically. "And who are you calling a stupid cub?"

"Eavesdropping again Wolf?" sent Wolf's Bane back.

"Ok, you caught me. We got anything to eat, I'm starving!"

"Sorry, but we didn't bring anything with us. Besides, you're always hungry." "Cubs!", she thought.

"I heard that!"

"Oh bother!"

"Ok," said Dark Wolf,"if we all get too hungry, we can just simply pop inside Chris and eat in peace there. It's too risky to try to eat out here. And besides, Chris'll let us know when we're in danger."

"Yeah, and she's much bigger on the inside anyway, even though she shrunk herself down to come with us here. And there's always plenty of food in there!"

"It has been a pretty long journey already. Since we left the surface, we haven't had much rest or eaten anything at all. It would probably be a good idea if we took turns "popping" inside Chris. Maybe 2 or 3 at a time. There should always be someone out here at all times."

"Ok everyone," said Black Knight, "I think Spike came up with a good idea. I know, we didn't have this luxury back on Trikonia, but since Chris is here with us, she can provide a safe place to eat an take short sleep breaks in, when needed."

"'Cat Naps' you mean," replied WarHead with a wink and a smile.

"Well, I didn't want to quite put it that way..." said Black Knight, trailing off. Changing the subject, "Why don't we let Awesome George, Wolf, and the Mother Hen, er.. um... Wolf's Bane go first."

"'Mother Hen'!" exclaimed Wolf's Bane. After calming down a bit, she said, "Well, I guess the Cubs and I can go first." And then she realized what she said and how she said it, and immediately teleported on board Chris.

We all couldn't help but chuckle a bit at the predicament she had just put herself in.

"I think that WarHead and I will go next after they return," said Dark Wolf. "Oh, and Squee, you can come with any of us if you like. I know that you've never been inside Chris before."

(OOC: We thought it would be good to have a little levity before plunging into more of the serious stuff. And give a little bit more insight to each of the characters in the process. )

The goblin was quite a bit curious about the wolves. "Dat fine but sure no eat Squee?" He asked in his exotic accent. "Me no taste good and live off bugs. Mmm delicious." He had never before encountered talking wolves but wolves themselves he had faced many times when he was back on Dominaria with Karn during their adventures in Rath finding the last pieces of the Legacy and fighting the Invasion.

Karn laughed. "You'll have to forgive my old friend here. He has always talked this funny since he was the cabin boy on our flying ship that was no where as advanced mechanically as Chris but for magically advanced instead.",

"Don't worry Squee, we wont eat you," Black Knight said reassuringly. "I know that you aren't used to seeing advances in technology like we are. If you'd like to just simply go on board to look around, that would be fine. Just stay near the others so you don't get lost."

"Me get lost in floating crystal?"

"Yes, Squee. She's bigger on the inside, and you don't shrink!" added Dark Wolf.

"Oh haha. Dat funny. Squee understand sarcasm well. Been long time since he trickster." Before he could say anything else, Karn gave him a stern glance. "Squee no one on Mirrodin but me and now these guests knows of your existence. It is highly important you listen as if Gerrard himself gave you commands so long ago." The goblin immediately gave a ridiculous military salute. "Dat good Karn. Me was looking forward to more exercise. Immortality like mine can be downright boring!"

"Squee, it wasn't meant as sarcasm, " Black Knight said. "Chris really is bigger on the inside. No shrinking IS necessary! Perhaps you don't truly understand advances in technology. I do know that you understand advanced Magic. So think of this as a small space, outside, but a big space inside! It would be considered Magic to you. That is why we would like for you to stay with Wolf's Bane, Wolf, and Awesome George while you are inside the pretty floating crystal that we call Chris, so you don't get lost. Of course that is what she calls herself!"

"Me still no understand how one can get lost inside pretty little floating crystal."

"You will!" said Wolf. "Want to see for yourself?"

""Ok, me go with you."

"Then join hands with us, and we will take you inside," said Awesome George.

So the three join hands and are teleported on board Chris.

They arrive in the control room.

"Oooo! Bigger!"

"You haven't seen the rest of Chris yet!" said Wolf.

"What are these?" asked Squee, referring to the buttons on the control panel.

"Those are called buttons," said Awesome George. "No, not the kind the you have on your shirt, um, tunic. These are pressed down and do different things. Some of which you and I will not like, so don't press any of them."

"Ooo! Pretty green one!"

"Don't press that one!" exclaimed Wolf. "That one will destroy Mirrodin!"

"Me also likes red one."

"No!" Exclaimed Awesome George. "That will destroy the whole Universe!!!!"

"Me want to press one. Which one can me press?"

"None of them!" said Black Knight, telepathically.

"But me want to press one."

"No!" said everyone, simultaneously, both audibly, and telepathically.

"Ok. Me no press any of them," Squee said reluctantly.

"You want to see our ship, I mean, Chris?" said Awesome George and Wolf.

"Ok. Me see."

And with that, they began a short tour of a big ship!

"Me want to go in there."

"No," said Wolf. "You don't want to go in there!"

"Me no understand. Why me no want to go there?"

"Because you could die there."

"But me die many times before."

"But...." Wolf thought of all the times he'd been there, and "died" himself, and said, "Ok. If you really want to go there, I must warn you. To pass this room, you must either defeat the opponent there, or die. I've died many times myself. Yet, because I can reconstruct myself from a single cell of myself, I still live."

"What is a cell?"

Then they both showed him, telepathically:

"This is an animal cell."

"This is a plant cell."

The telepathic images and information of each was then implanted in Squee's mind.

"Much to understand. Me must think."

Karn smiled at Squee's confusion as he and Jace had 'walked inside in time to hear the discussion. "It has been a very long time since you saw me meld magic and technology to create this world so I am not surprised this is even past your level of understanding." Then he turned to Black Knight. "Perhaps if me and Jace showed him the type of fighting and survival required he would better understand."

"Perhaps," said Black Knight. "But I think that the room he wants to go into will most definitively teach him that, unfortunately."

"It is our training room, that he wants to enter. It could kill him again, as it has done us many times before."

"I thought as much," Jace said. "As a telepath, sometimes it is hard not to read memories and you and your friends seem to have undergone lots of tough training judging by the amount of death scenes you seem to be thinking about. In the old days, planeswalkers would duel using summoned monsters and spells. Are you sure Chris can handle that type of magical damage if things get out of hand?"

"Lucifer has damaged her time circuits, while remaining hidden from us, of course things can get out of hand," Black Knight said, remorsefully. "Of course, we found the problem, and are trying to correct it. Of course that also involves Mirrodin, and it's problems. Which we are trying to help you with.

Squee, although he is very old, does not fully understand everything. Though, unfortunately, none of us could fully explain everything to him, he is still yet a child unto us."

And with that, Black Knight gives everyone a frowny face, both physically, and telepathically.

"In that case, it would be safer if we showed you in a pocket dimension," Karn said. "Nothing too extravagant really." Jace then used his own memories of Superhero City to make it look like Greece.

It was probably as big inside looking as the old Earth's St Peter's Basilica but was actually as huge as Earth itself. Anything that could be imagined from memory was able to appear there.

Black Knight and the others joined Jace in presenting various battles that took place on Earth between the Heroes and Villains of SHC. Of course, Squee had never seen beings with superpowers before, just those that wielded magic.

From memory, we went to the events of (Clues to the Final Directive) and (The Final Directive.) (Forthcoming article stories eventually)

It was an epic battle to be sure, with lots of smaller battles leading up to the big one with Sin on the island where the Garden of Eden was.

It was a lot for Squee to digest.

"Squee," said WarHead, "This is what we train for in the room that you wanted to see."

"Me thinks me no want to go in room anymore."

"We can show you a lot of other rooms that you might like," said WarHead. "Even a room that you can press any button you like!"

"Me like that," Squee said with a smile.

So with the pocket dimension gone and everyone back to where the were before, Wolf and Awesome George takes Squee to the door of one special room. Squee is very excited.

"Me push buttons now?"

"Yes, Squee."

"Me no understand. Looks like first room we in."

"But this one is different,"said Wolf. "Here, watch this."

Wolf walks over to the control panel and presses a button. Suddenly, the room changes into a lush tropical paradise.

Wolf pushes a few more buttons a the sounds of birds and insects and the waterfall can now be heard.

"Looks real," said Awesome George, "but it isn't. Just holographic images with sound effects to make it appear real."

"Holo... what? Me no understand."

"Holographic. Oh!" exclaimed Wolf. "Forgot that you haven't been exposed to very much technology. Remember when we showed you those battles on Earth in the pocket dimension? Those scenes came from our memories. And the pocket dimension could reproduce those memories. This is somewhat like that, only we use technology to make the images, not magic. More technology makes the sounds. And forcefield emitters makes what you see, feel like the real thing. In this room, there is nothing that can harm you in anyway. That other room didn't have the safety features that this one does. The buttons can change the scenery, and the sounds, as well as the lighting. And you can play music too!"

"Watch this," said Awesome George. He pushed a few more buttons. "This is a Hawaiian Luau."

"Oh, and the food that we are eating came from food replicators," said Wolf, with his mouth full.

"You say me can push buttons."

"Ok, Chris can translate the writing for you, so that you can read what the buttons do," said Awesome George.

Squee looked at all the buttons for a little while. We both knew that Chris had to explain to squee what each one did. Finally, he pushed 3 buttons.

"Tolarian Academy. Dominara." was all Squee said.

Karn sighs as he sees the long lost academy. "I was created there by Urza Planeswalker," he tells Awesome George and the others. "Originally my purpose was to be an artifact creature sent back in time to stop Yawgmoth and end the Thran War. Through centuries of experiments in time theorem it was discovered that silver was the metal best suited to survive the rigors of such risky endeavors. However though I was only successful in traveling back one day in time only and the experiment was deemed a failure."

"I have since learned that my planeswalker spark combined with my silver body allow me to travel back and forth between the past and the present only. Tolaria was also where my creator began his experiments to prepare for when the Phyrexians invaded Dominaria. As I told you earlier, these ranged from building advanced technology fused with magic to create powerful artifacts. But the most secret experiment of all there is no longer a need to keep hidden. The Bloodline Project was a large project of genetic engineering set up by Urza to create perfect warriors against Phyrexia. It created the Metathran soldiers, who had been mutated beyond humanity so they could breath oxygen underwater like a Atlantean but fight equally well in combat above , as well as a group of humans and humanoids at the peak of their strength, agility, intelligence, et cetera. These experiments led to the creation of the Coalition Force that repelled the Invasion ultimately."

"Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I believe we have incoming!"said Black Knight. "Dragon at 11:00 high!"

A dragon indeed it was but not any commonplace one. Vengeance burned deeply inside because for reasons unclear still, this world was were it had awakened awhile ago and in the Mephidross it had since dwelt as it's scattered memories came slowly back together from whence they had been fragmented and its body underwent a gruesome transformation.

Skithiryx was the name given by those it terrorized on Mirrodin but it knew that wasn't its true name but would happily suffice for now. Once it had been a deadly being in its own right but the Mephidross had corrupted it further. Ichor like ooze covered all its body and there was no way to tell it was ever an undead dragon lich. In fact, this dragon had shed its lich like state and was now a skeleton dragon.

It still retained its powerful magical abilities though and it was those that had alerted it to the presence of the mage it now knew as "The Traitor." Names still were not yet remembered but it didn't matter. Skithiryx was out hunting for vengeance and not for dinner or the pleasure of the kill.

Jace heard the alarm and saw the dragon appear on Chris's scanners. "Fall back!" he magically shouted upon recognizing the magic of this dragon. "I don't know how the hell he survived but he's back. Magic calls to magic my friends and that dragon there is the deadliest enemy magicwise I ever faced before coming to SHC. I knew him as Zerocurew the Dracolich."

Karn studied the approaching fiend. "Jace he may have been a dracolich once but no longer for I sense he has grown even deadlier due to the Phyrexian oil fully infecting him. He no longer drains magic but has Spellfire still meaning he can regenerate himself now physically. This is not a battle we can win right now!"

"True," said Black Knight. "But if we do have to fight it, we think that it's possible to immobilize it by crystallizing it, but we'd have to be in a circle around it. The tricky part is to get it on the ground long enough to cast the spell. Then once it's immobilized, Chris can teleport it to the nearest Black Hole where it would be crushed by the singularity at the center."

"And it's only thought at the moment is, 'Vengeance'," said Spike. "It may not give us a choice in the matter."

"And I think it's interesting that our pretty glowing crystal swords are made from a crystal dragon!" said Dark Wolf.

Karn groaned. "Dark Wolf, that dragon has nothing whatsoever to do with the Legacy Set. The set itself was made up of artifacts weapons and armor created long ago by the Thran millions of years ago and more were left behind after my mortal creator fought his mortal brother Mishra a few hundred thousand years ago in their crusade against each other that ended with Urza a planeswalker."

"During the events of the Invasion's Apocalypse, Urza, mesmerized by sights of Phyrexia, abandoned his fight and descended deep into the core of the world of glistening oil to bow before Yawgmoth. On his way, he met the body of Mishra deep in the Center of Phyrexia, wrecked with fresh pain and torments day in, day out, asking brother to help him out. However, as the entirety of Phyrexia is the direct product of Yawgmoth, and adding to that the somewhat unstable state of Urza's mind at the moment (or rather one could say it was never stable, especially with regard to his brother's demise), we can not be sure if it was really Mishra, who somehow survived the Sylex Blast; an apparition presented by Yawgmoth to further stress and confuse the great planeswalker; or merely Urza's hallucination."

"Well, perhaps I was misinformed about the sword. It does have a similar appearance to one that is made from a crystal dragon. Saw it in Chris's database."

Using his memories, Karn projected the following information into Chris's computers as he tried to think of a strategy to stop the reborn Zerocurew from massacring Jace and the others. "This is but a minor representation of the items that when combined made up the Legacy collection," he said.

""If holy magic is required to keep the dragon away from us until the time is right to finally then listen carefully. Any minute now, the white moon/sun of Mirrodin will pass on over in the skies. I'll use my magic to cause a wave of white mana to travel from it to here and that should drive him away but for how long I can not say."

"Ok, sounds good to me," said Black Knight and the others. "We're not sure if crystallizing the Dragon will work anyway. We thought that if he was immobilized, he would be easier to deal with. Wouldn't have any idea how long he would remain immobilized that way though, if it worked."

"We have discussed various options," he continued, "the Black Hole was one of them. Problem with Black Holes is the not knowing whether or not an object falling into it would be crushed out of existence by the singularity in the center, or the whole thing would function as a Worm Hole. If the later was the case, then the object could wind up anywhere, even near the Earth."

"If crystallization is successful, then we also have the option of casting a second spell, which would trigger the secondary effect of sending the whole thing into another dimension, or plane of existence. We've heard it called the Boneyard, or the Graveyard, which I believe is the correct translation."

"We've also thought about what spell to cast after Crystallization. Various ideas were put forth. But the one I like is a spell we call Pound. In most cases, it can obliterate anything in it's path, but not always, as we've discovered. If we do this after Crystallization, it should shatter the Dragon into small pieces, just before it goes to the Graveyard."

"Once in the Graveyard, it should be trapped there, even if it can reverse the crystallization and reanimate itself. Unless it knows a way to escape."

"Wolf and I know all about the Graveyard," said Awesome George. "We had an... um... accident, which sent both of us there. Took the others 2 full weeks to figure out where we were and how to get us out. It was a dismal, barren wasteland. And the creatures there...." ~ Shudders at the thought ~

"Worst of all," added Wolf, "there wasn't any food!"

"Cubs!" said Wolf's Bane, shaking her head.

He swoops in for his first attack run. With his new strength he has gained new powers too. Opening his mouth, a n inky black cloud of corrosion and death blasts out for several hundred metres in all directions. "Traitor I shall feast on your body and use your bones as chopsticks!" This cloud is no ordinary magical attack. Bolstered by the corrupting Phyrexian oils inside, in fact it is literally acidic and worse anything it touches becomes deadly and twisted and just as infected as well.

With the Dragon's blast of his acidic breath, we all immediately scatter out of the way. Chris flies behind the Darksteel Juggernaut, which doesn't seem to be affected by the toxic cloud.

Chris pops up from behind the Juggernaut and fires a huge burst of energy at the flying undead Dragon. The Dragon is blasted into small pieces, but quickly reassembles itself!

The Dark Wolves fire away at the Dragon with both magic and superpowers. And every time, the thing reassembles itself!

"We got to get it on the ground!" shouts Spike.

The Dragon makes pass after pass after pass, each time spewing forth more of the inky-black toxic cloud.

The battle continues to rage on for what seems like hours.

Finally, WarHead shouts, "You afraid to come down here and face us on the ground!"

"Is the big bad Dragon a coward? Come down here and fight us on the ground!" shouts Dark Wolf.

"Nyanya nyanya nya nya, Zerocurew is a coward!" Shouts Wolf.

"We're either very brave, or very foolish," thinks Wolf's Bane. "Come down here on the ground and fight!" she shouts.

He laughs with a strangely human sounding voice as the pitiful attacks. "Fools any magic based type of powers do not affect me. But I admire your courage." Landing on the ground, the undead dragon transforms into an older human type form. "You wished me to land so I have. Very few have seen me in my original form before I was first cursed to be a dracolich so consider it a great honor indeed. In this form I was named Urvon and was a mighty sorcerer of darkness and served a god of ancient times known as Torak One Eye. When he was cast down, my immortality survived and I for a time imagined I was strong enough to take his place as a new god but it was only one of many delusions of grandeur I have suffered over my long existence. After the delusion wore off I was literally dragged down into hell by demons I had enslaved through sorcery but I later escaped and began planning vengeance on those who brought me low but that is a different story."

"The Inkling may know more of my history then any other besides the planeswalkers themselves but I predate even them for I came from an alternate version of Earth mired in the so-called medieval times. Needless to say back then I was not so driven by vengeance but was an outcast among humanity not because of my powers or because I served an evil God as one of his human servants but because of this!" He points at his plague stricken body which even today is known as "The Pox." "As for Torak my master you ask? His was a cruel story indeed."

Following taken from an account of Belgarath the Sorcerer and the Citizens of the Seer city of Kell who documented the rise and fall of Torak and those who sought to make him the evil ruler of alternate medieval Earth (See "The Belgariad", "The Mallorrean", "Belgarath the Sorcerer" "Polgara the Sorceress" and "Poledra" novels by David and Leah Eddings for the full story)

Torak is the third of seven Gods. His people are the Angaraks, and his is the only totem animal to be counted among the monstrous races (perhaps due to Torak's vain attempts to enhance the creature): the dragon.

The left side of his body, most notably his face and hand, are seriously maimed, having been burnt by the Orb of Aldur. Before this, he was said to be the most handsome of the Gods. His left eye, called the Eye That Was Not, continually burns with the fire of the Orb of Aldur. Beldin therefore often referred to Torak as "Old burnt-face"; this reference hints at Beldin's true identity when he is in disguise, as he is the only one to use it.

Alone among his brothers, Torak served the Dark in the War of Destinies. He fought them all in the War of the Gods, which he had brought about by stealing the Orb of Aldur; when almost defeated, he split the world using the power of the Orb, leaving the remaining Angaraks on one side of a new ocean, and their enemies on the other. This act offended the spirit of the Orb, which then struck him with its fire in retaliation. Establishing a theocratic military culture, Torak drove the Angaraks to exploit and dominate the new continent of Mallorea, integrating the Dals, Karands, and Melcenes, and also taking much of the western continent. Eons later, Torak was slain by Belgarion in the ruins of Cthol Mishrak, at what was then thought to be the ultimate meeting of the Child of Light and the Child of Dark.

"Not all of our attacks are magic based. We have superpowers as well. And have used those also. Our ship, Chris, has blasted you with her energy weapon. Of course, you keep reanimating yourself, being an undead Dragon and all."

As Awesome George continued talking, the others formed a circle around the Dragon in human type form. Chris comes up from behind, and using her matter teleporter, she reconfigures it to crystallize the creature standing before us. We begin to chant the crystallization spell, first barely audible, then louder as we see the crystallization process begin.

Urvon laughs as he recognizes what the werewolves are trying to attempt. "I recognize that you are trying to crystallize me to deal with later. Therefor I'll take my leave for now. Someday however I'll return with my full powers and not these ones in my astral projectionary state and then you shall know the difference between "killing" me off and what death is truly like." That being said, suddenly his body turns into a shadow and vanishes.

"This is an unfortunate turn of events," Karn says slowly. "While we have fought one great evil, could it be a greater one was hiding all this time in plain sight beneath even your notice Jace? Because of this, I believe that upon Mirrodin being liberated and you all returning to SHC, I shall accompany you with Squee that perhaps between the knowledge of the planeswalkers and that of the one you now call The Inkling and his former academy we can decipher the mystery that is Urvon. But I now can perceive that the one who was just here probably has manipulated through secret much of the chaos in the different versions of Earth he claims to have seen since his return from hell."

"This was definitely unexpected," said Black Knight and the others.

After our strange encounter with Urvon, we press on towards the center of the Core of Mirrodin. As we do so, we begin to encounter some of the Myr. Modeled after ants, they prove to be tough opponents, especially since there are so many of them. The Darksteel Myr proved to be the toughest ones to beat.

But the Darksteel Juggernaut helped us a lot with all of them by trampling them underfoot. But their numbers keep increasing.

"I think the're trying to overwhelm us with shear numbers," shouted Black Knight.

As the battle continued to rage, and the number of Myr continued to climb, we all gathered together on the back of the Darksteel Juggernaut and launched a special attack using magic, super powers, and Chris. With a blast of energy, magic, and superpowers, we leveled our attackers down to just the Darksteel Myr. We also used the exploding Myr against them, by causing them to explode while they were still with the other Myr.

When finally, the only Myr that remained were the Darksteel Myr, we teleported to positions surrounding them, while they continued their advance towards the Darksteel Juggernaut upon whose back we had been attacking them from. With the Darksteel Myr in the center, and Chris teleporting the Juggernaut out of harm's way, Chris reconfigured her teleporter once again to begin crystallizing the remaining Myr, while we began chanting the spell to crystallize them. Those that also had the superpower ability to crystallize objects also used that ability in concert with the spell and Chris's crystallization ray.

It worked! And then we gathered in a circle around Black Knight and chanted one of our most powerful spells, Pound. All of our magic was focused on Black Knight, who then directed it at the crystallized Myr. They then exploded into trillions of pieces, and then vanished into the Graveyard! (As explained before, when a second spell is cast after the Crystallization spell, the object goes to the dimension, or plane of existence known as the Graveyard.)

We had faced a few scouts for the Myr before, but this was the first all-out-attack by them. Although it was successful, some escaped to tell the others. This would not be the last time we would see them.

"Ok, I think it's time for WarHead and me to take our turn aboard Chris for a little break."

"But I didn't get to finish eating!"

"Um, Wolf... I believe we've had our turn inside Chris. It's time to let WarHead and Dark Wolf have their turn now. Besides, you're always complaining that you didn't get to finish eating!"

"Thanks Dark Wolf and Wolf's Bane, I could certainly use a little rest time right now. And Wolf, she's right you know. You're always hungry, and you always complain about not getting done eating."

"Aw shucks."

Moments later, "That was an invigorating battle we had. But know I'm exhausted and famished. I'm starting to feel faint."

"Sorry wolf, but that quit working after the first half dozen times you've tried that! And besides, we've already had our turn. So you'll just have to wait until next time!"

"Darn it. I thought I'd at least try."

The next few days were relatively uneventful as we continued our journey to the center of the Core of Mirrodin.

Then suddenly, a surprise attack by the Myr! The shear number of each of the various kinds of Myr were immediately overwhelming. And we were completely surrounded on all sides. There was no escape!

Surrounded, outnumbered, and with very few options available, we decided to teleport to safety on board Chris, who made a special room just for our very large guest, the Darksteel Juggernaut. Chris then rose up high above the Myr. We felt that we needed to have some time to plan what to do about the Myr.

"They kinda remind me of the fire ants back on Earth," said Black Knight, referring to the way they seem to like to attack en masse.

Unknown to the Wolves, this was not some random assault. The survivors of the first attack upon retreating had sent in their scouting info to Tezzeret. He then used that to plan this huge attack since he was a master of artifact manipulation.

"All fleshlings have weaknesses but what weakness do you have hmm?" he thought to himself. The generals had come to an agreement that rather then attack these new heroes and heroine each would try out different strategies separately so that there was no way to be able to see how their plans were connected. With Tezzeret his plan was simple genius. He had known from reports from before he came to Mirrodin that the myr were quick to evolve and quick to reach maturity in terms of processing data and forming new strategies.

Seeing that their ship was flying the Wolves away, Tezzeret had the hundreds of thousands of Myr form themselves into colossal giant Myr. These Myr Superion along with the equally dreaded Myr Enforcer began to trying to take control of the ship through the strange abilities of the Myr themselves!

With the Myr forming these new giant monstrosities, and using their unique abilities to attack Chris, We sent the Darksteel Juggernaut back down to the ground where it could help use attack these new threats. As the Juggernaut did it's attacks on the Myr Superion and the Myr Enforcers, Chris began using her energy weapon in concert with the crystallization ray. We popped back down to use Pound on the new Myr, trying not to get trampled in the process. We would alternate between using Pound and using our superpowers. And when we could, we tried using the Crystallization spell, as well as several others. It was a very long battle, and those new Myr weren't easy to destroy either.

Seeing his forces near defeat, Tezzeret personally decided to join the battle. He teleported himself there and immediately used his 'walker unique ability to bring the ground to life. This he molded and soon there were several metallic golems in due time.

Karn saw this and joined the wolves in fighting back. He used his powers to try to drive the new Myr away from being manipulated as well as giving them brand new orders. As a result, the Myr disassembled then reassembled into their original forms. "Tezzeret! How dare you use my own creations on Mirrodin!" While normally a pacifist, there was no denying Karn was very mad right now.

While Karn was busy with Tezzeret and the Myr, we used our crystal weapons and crystal swords on the new metalic golems that Tezzeret had created, augmenting our magic and superpowers into destructive blasts of power at the new golems, melting them in the process.

"Don't think you'll win all your battles here so easily." threatened Tezzeret. "What you have faced today is but a small example of the great powers I control!" That being said, he teleported back to his part of the core but scarcely had he left then the ground shook and crumbled as a dormant volcano began to erupt!

Karn and Jace together immediately used their magic to soothe the wounded land before an eruption occurred. "We have to hurry before he reports his findings to the other generals or worse before we face one of the dreaded praetors themselves," Jace said having caught a glimpse of the enemy planeswalker's mind during the battle. "I fear he plans to resurrect Memnarch as his ultimate strategy to defeat us."

After this, we continued on our journey. Several hours later, we decided to take a short break. Sometimes, Wolf's Bane likes to take a short little walk from the group, just to get away from the guys for a short time. She never goes very far though. On this particular little walk, however, she got the distinct feeling that someone or some thing was stalking her. She opened up all of her senses to take in all that she could. Whatever it is, it's not one of the guys.

The female elf glanced around sharply as her prey seemed to somehow notice it was being tracked. While wolves were uncommon on Mirrodin, never had this elf seen one able to fight or talk like the one she was hunting and was very impressed since she had secretly been observing the fight earlier against the myr and the evil being Tezzeret the Seeker. However, she was very reluctant to show herself if discovered for she was one of the few surviving elves in the Mirrodin Resistance under the leadership of Ezuri the Renegade

.

With the disappearance of Melinda only he and a few others led the struggling partisans in their fights against the Phyrexian monstrosities but with each new battle fewer survivors were uncorrupted.

The elf came to a decision. Shouldering her bow, she quietly came out into the open in front of Wolf's Bane. "I mean you no harm, but like you also fight against the evil that plagues my homeworld. I have seen your kind in combat and the fact you help the Creator shows you are not evil.

"Thank you. We are not evil. We came here looking for the material we need to repair our ship's time circuits, but we also know that this world needs to be free from the Phyrexians and their oil. We are helping Karn and Jace to remove this threat to your world."

Black Knight had heard a conversation going on nearby with Wolf's Bane and someone else.

"Would you like to meet the rest of us?" asked Black Knight. "We could always use more help in fighting the Phyrexians. And we believe that we may know of a way to counteract the effects of the oil."

"Now isn't the best time," the elf archer said with a worried look on her face. "The Traitor is rumored to be coming on another massacre type hunting expedition through this part of Mirrodin. If she catches any of us, we will be better off dead then as her trophies. Should we meet again, I'll tell you more. Good luck" She quickly retreated down a secret path only the partisans knew about.

"She was referring to the once noble elf heroine named Glissa," Karn said not too long afterwards while they were all aboard Chris. "She is the general who is most Phyrexian among all our enemies here. Unlike Tezzeret or Geth, Glissa was forced to become a Phyrexian after she slew Memnarch and she and the rest of the older generations were sent back to Dominaria. i do not know what horrors she underwent there while a prisoner, but she is very deadly having been given the ability to instantly kill whatever she touches due to her now poisonous body. Her strength and dexterity were greatly enhanced and her intelligence too. In her innocence, she was already among the greatest of the elvish trackers on this planet but now she lives only for the joy of hunting itself."

Although Glissa is now considered an Elf Zombie, because of the Phyrexian Oil she was contaminated with, she was also considered a smart zombie because her soul was bound by a necromancer to her now zombified body. And she is also now considered a Phyrexian, because of the one called Vorinclex, who completed her conversion. And because of this, she is now one of the Generals in New Phyrexia (Mirrodin). And therefore, we Dark Wolves, have detected that the Real Glissa was imprisoned deep within the New Glissa, at some point in her conversion.

"With the approach of Glissa's hunting party, we feel that we may be able to do something positive with her... maybe even to help her," said Black Knight.

"We know of a way that might help her," said Wolf's Bane. "We feel that since she enjoys hunting females the most, and since I can both freeze and crystallize with my superpowers, we feel that I can lead her off by herself from the hunting party. The others will distract the hunting party, while I will lead her away from them. Then, I can freeze her, up to her chin, in a block of ice with my superpowers, which I can then crystallize with one of my other superpowers. After that, we can talk with her soul, which has been imprisoned deep within her. Then we can change the crystal cube into a magic crystal cube, and then construct a temporal time trap around her, and then encase that with layers of force fields, both magic and otherwise, as well as booby-traps, both magic and otherwise, all powered, re-enforced, and reconstructed by, the magic crystal cube surrounding her."

"And with the physical imprisonment, the Real Glissa should get the picture, and fight her imprisonment during this time," continued Black Knight. "Time passes much differently inside the Temporal Time Trap than outside of it. What would take 4 hours for us, would seem like 42 hours for her, a little under 2 days. Therefore, if it took the others 3 days to get her out, it would seem like 3 weeks for her. Enough time for the seed that will be planted to germinate and begin to grow."

"If she frees her real self from her prison during this time," continued Dark Wolf, "we will have a new ally in the fight to free all of Mirrodin from the evil that is Phyrexia."

Karn agreed with Black Knight and the others it was a good plan, but he had some misgivings. "By now I am certain they have been scrying us and if so undoubtedly the generals besides Tezzeret will be using anti magic forms of technology to nullify our efforts so far. It is time I showed you a type of technology that will probably come as a surprise to you."

Using his 'walker abilities, Karn began weaving what looked like a metallic suit of armor out of thin air. "This is what was known long ago as Power Armor," he said.

"In battle it provides a technological boost to one's powers. The last recorded usage of it was long ago during the Invasion but I believe that with Jace's help, we can make this to suit all of you. This sort of power is activated mentally and provides a metallic barrier against physical and magical attacks. But because it is not an actual artifact, the Myr and Tezzeret will not be able to control it unless you let your guard slip."

"Actually, because of the improvements we experienced with the crystal weapons we found on Trikonia, and the crystal amour, crystal swords, and crystal shields that you gave unto us, this is not as big of a surprise as you might think," said Wolf's Bane. "Because they all enhance our magic and superpowers. And being werewolves, we are both excellent hunters, as well as intelligent enough to detect when someone is trying to manipulate us. Plus, we are very skilled telepaths."

"We don't even need to form a circle and join hands to form the Group Mind anymore," added Black Knight, "because we can do this now quite naturally, whenever the need arises."

"And thank you for yet another gift that you have given unto us," replied Black Knight.

With the new Power Armour, the crystal weapons we found on Trikonia, and the crystal armor, shields, and swords that Karn had given unto us, we proceeded with the plan.

While the others distracted and led the hunting party away, I enticed Glissa to follow me away from the others.

"Yo, Glissa, Over here! I want to show you something," said Wolf's Bane.

"What could possibly be so important that you would want to show it someone like me? Especially since you fight against us."

"Come, follow me, and I will show you."

"Why should I?"

"Because it concerns your past, and what you are now."

"I still don't know what you are talking about."

"Then come, I will show you."

"Again, why should I?"

"Follow me, and you will see."

"I still don't understand why I should follow you. You are the enemy. You are my prey," said Glissa.

"Because we understand you," said Wolf's Bane. "Because we are werewolves, we are excellent hunters too. And WE know what was done unto you against your will."

"I still don't understand."

"The one deep inside of you does, for you have imprisoned her. She IS the Rel Glissa. You are the result of the Phyrexian oil's corruption and Vorinclex completing your conversion to become a Phyrexian."

"Why should I listen to an insolent fool like you?"

With the others in her hunting party distracted, Wolf's Bane quickly encases Glissa in a block of ice with her superpowers, except for her head. She then immediately crystallizes it, again, using her superpowers.

"I'm not talking to you. I'm talking the one you've imprisoned deep within yourself. The Real Glissa."

From deep within a void of thought long asleep for decades at least, a conscious mind slowly wakes up. "Who........ am...... I?" A long forgotten voice seems to think out loud. "Memnarch..... destroyed......... but...... something.....calls...to me?" A name dimly comes to mind. "Glissa........ Sunseeker?"

Terrible agony pours into this newly awakened mind, almost drowning it in oblivion. "Forgetttttttttt," an evil chant seems to intone. "Forgettttt the pastttttt. Youuuuuu haveeeee neverrrrrr beeen goodddddd." However a hidden memory seems to open up and (she?) sees (friends?) with (her?) fighting a ruler turned to darkness and triumphing against massive odds. "Mirrodin?...... the name sounds familiar....but why?......."

And with that, we began to unlock her entire past, from birth, until the conversion.

"Only you can completely release her from her prison," said Wolf's Bane, talking to the new Glissa, which also experienced everything the Old Glissa experienced. "You and her are the same person!" she exclaimed. "Think it over, because both of you will have plenty of time inside the Temporal Time Trap that we are about to construct."

And with that, we cast the spell to make the crystal cube that Glissa was imprisoned in, into a magic crystal cube, which continues to power, re-enforce, & reconstruct the force fields and booby traps, magic and otherwise, that we constructed afterwards. All according to the plan.

The seed has been planted. Now we must wait to see if it grows!

While Glissa was experiencing time in a different format than what we were experiencing, Glissa's hunting party and the other 2 generals came upon Glissa in her Crystal Cube imprisonment and multilayered traps & force fields.

Tezzeret, "Seems to be a Magic Cube that powers multiple layers of traps and force fields. Very impressive!"

Geth, "Yes, Indeed."

A lifetime seemed to pass for her. She saw her life from the perspective of a neutral observer while she retraced her many journeys across what was then the pure undefiled Mirrodin on her original journey to discover why her thoughts and emnotions told her there was a problem unseen with the plane.

From the vast Tangle deep in the forests Glissa Sunseeker journeyed on her memories alone as she sought to understand the events behind the betrayal that had turned her evil. She saw the great massacre by the mythic levelers, artifact monstrosities that swept Mirrodin once a century, as they laid waste to her Elven village and destroyed her family. From there, she was sent to Taj-Nar, capitol of the feline race of people known as the Leonin. There she saw her meeting with Raksha Golden Cub, their youngest leader ever. As she relived these memories, Glissa could feel her evil half losing strength. "I was not always the evil being you think you were created to be," she said to her as they clashed continually. "Karn himself appointed me to be a guardian of this world for good and I will purge you fully from myself and redeem this world from the evil you helped to contaminate it with!"

As Glissa's hunting party and the 2 generals stood there puzzling over what to do to get her out, Glissa was reliving her past and battling with herself over which side would win the battle between her good side and her evil side.

After puzzling over the problem, for what seemed like hours, the 2 generals decided to try different strategies, with each one taking turns at it. Over the course of the next 3 days, countless strategies were employed by both generals, but to no avail.

"Well, at least we know what doesn't work."

"This is true."

"I've noticed a pattern in the way everything regenerates."

"Oh, how so?"

"Well, the magic cube seems to regenerate the force fields first, then the traps. It takes about 15 seconds to regenerate the force fields, and an other 10 seconds after that for the traps to regenerate. So, if we could destroy them all at once, and we could get to the cube quickly enough, we could deactivate them and proceed to free her."

"So if we work together...."

"We could do it."

"Sounds like a plan."

Working together, the 2 generals managed to punch a hole all the way to the cube. And using teleportation, magic or otherwise, they found themselves next to the Magic Cube that imprisons Glissa. Working simultaneously, they begin to disable both the force fields and the traps. Next, they turn their attention to the Magic Cube itself. With their combined strength and magic, they disperse the cube, freeing Glissa in the process!

From within the shattered cube, a beautiful non zombie elf slowly opens her eyes. There is no longer any traces of evil around her being and as she sees Geth and Tezzeret there, suddenly Glissa feels her righteous wrath being unkindled. Saying nothing, she unleashes a flood of pure green mana and suddenly huge vines grasp the two fiends and they are dragged thousands of feet beneath the surface of Mirrodin. Glissa knows it will only be a temporary prison but for now she has work to do by undoing the corruption she has caused The Tangle and Mirrodin.

Glissa remembers what the Dark Wolves has done in offering to her the chance of Redemption for her past crimes against Mirrodin as Glissa the Traitor. They are not far from here, so she seeks them out as allies.

"Whoa! You look different then when we first meet you!"

"You gave me a chance at redeeming myself. So I chose to take it."

"You're not a Phyexian Zombie anymore! You beat the corruption of the Oil!"

"Yes, thanks to to all of you. I was still tied to that former me, and with your help, I was able to overcome the corruption."

"Then, we have a new ally," said Karn.

"Karn I'm glad to see you have fully recovered from your long imprisonment," Glissa said to him. "I fear though that unless we can stop the generals all will be for naught. By himself Memnarch was almost impossible to defeat both with my former groups of allies and lastly by myself. But should he be corrupted with the oil again, I can not begin to describe the destruction he would cause."

Karn understood well. "If I had not been the source of the oil coming to this world upon its creation the Phyrexians would never have arisen and Mennarch would never have turned evil. It fully corrupted him into actually believing he was a god, well a irrational one would be the best description. However, the praetors are probably his equals in strength and the remaining generals in his cunning. We should regroup with the resistance fighters to form new tactics."

"We know of few Resistance fighters", said Wolf's Bane. "They are in the Tangle. Because we met one."

"Those that follow Urabrask the Hidden are also ones to be contacted, maybe even Urabrask himself!", said Glissa."Since many of the survivors of Mirrodin have found refuge in the Furnace Layer, Urabrask has commanded his furnace legions to turn a blind eye to the refugees. Even though the monolithic, freedom-crushing hierarchy of the rest of Phyrexia irks him, he still works to supply the rest of Phyrexia with the fuel and raw materials it needs. Therefore, I believe that he can be persuaded to become an ally also."

Time passed as we searched the Tangle for any signs of our archer friend or where the other elves are hiding. Finally, after a long and thorough search, and with the aid of Chris, we did find her. She was with a small group of other elves. The Elf Archer was surprised to see us, and even more surprised at seeing Glissa.

"Why have you brought the Traitor here?" she demanded.

"She is no longer corrupted by the oil," said Wolf's Bane. "She has been cured."

"My only goal is to free Mirrodin from the Phyrexians, and to undo the damage that I have caused," said Glissa. "See, I am no longer one of them. I am me again, thanks to the help of the Wolves."

"We need all the help we can get," said Black Knight. "We need the help of the Resistance fighters. And then we will go to the Furnace Layer next to recruit more help from there. We also hear that Urabrask the Hidden might also be a potential ally."

"And I have regained control over my Myr," said Karn.

"We can do this," said Wolf. "We can defeat the Phyrexians and cleanse Mirrodin of the contamination of the oil."

"We still need to find the Bloodstone Foundry," added Spike.

"With it, we believe that we can reverse the effects of the oil, since it was the original source of the contamination," said Dark Wolf.

"Chris, our ship, says that the Bloodstone Foundry is the key," added Awesome George.

"The pretty floating crystal above us is Chris," said WarHead.

"But it is so small," said one of the elves.

"Small on outside, big on inside!" exclaimed Squee.

"Perhaps I can be of some assistance," Jace said. "I couldn't help but to read your minds and I understand why you are afraid and wary," he told the elves. "It can be hard to trust an ally after they have spent years being an enemy. Here allow me to show you what I mean."

Using his abilities, the Mindsculptor showed the elves a few of his memories of being both an enemy and later a patron to The Inkling. "As you can see, sometimes there are required situations where one must be evil in order to fool those who are evil in order to actually help the cause of good. The human you have just seen for many years saw me as a bodyguard to one of his deadliest enemies and it took me a long time to gain his trust after me and his friends were cast into the world the werewolves are from too."

"Yes," said Black Knight. " The time Glissa has spent on the other side will be most invaluable because of the knowledge she has gained from them. Strengths and weaknesses are all stored in her memory. We are glad that we were able to provide a means by which she was able to become herself again."

"When I was freed by Geth and Tezzeret from the Magic Cube you put me in, I immediately sent them thousands of feet below the surface," said Glissa. "It wont hold them long."

"We need to act quickly, I sense that Lucifer is occupied elsewhere, and we need to gather up as many allies as we can," said Black Knight to Jace and Karn and the others.

"Yes, time is of the essence," said Dark Wolf.

"Will you please help us," asked Glissa to her fellow elves.

"We will need to meet with the rest of the Resistance fighters," said the Elf Archer that we first met.

-------------------------

After some time, we emerged from a long and winding tunnel that we had entered. The cavern below the surface of Mirrodin's core contained a large number of makeshift homes. It was nothing like the the home Glissa remembers growing up in.

"Why have you brought the Traitor here?" one of them demanded.

"This is Ezuri the Renegade," said the Elf Archer. "He is our leader." To Ezuri, "Glissa has been cured of the corruption of the oil. She wants to help us overthrow the Phyexians and undo the damage she has caused while she was one of them."

"Yes, And we are building up a group of allies to help us defeat these invaders," said Dark Wolf.

"We will also visit the Furnace layer," said Spike. "We hear that Urabrask the Hidden has allowed refugees of the invasion to hide out there. And he may also be a potential ally."

"I understand your reluctance," said Black Knight. And with that, he showed what the Dark Wolves did to Glissa, and what she did to Geth and Tezzeret when they freed her, using his telepathic abilities.

"We will help," said Ezuri.

"I'm glad that you will help us. What convinced you?" asked Karn.

"With your presence here, and the fact that you trust the wolves, I felt that maybe I should trust them too," said Ezuri.

The Furnace Layer

We next find our intrepid band of heroes entering into the Furnace Layer.

Here we see a variety of new creatures. The Slag Fiend:

The Ogre Menial:

The Squealstokes:

Virons:

Moltensteel Dragon:

And a variety of others such as the Furnace dregs, Ingot slaves, and Slag harvesters.

***************************

One by one, we visit each of the refugee camps. They are usually fairly small and scattered about. We also visited the main Resistance camps of Bladehold, Lowlight, Seedling, and Slagmaw. We met with a number of Resistance leaders including Jor Kadeen, the Prevailer:

and Melira, the Sylvok Outcast, one of the last survivors of the Sylvok humans which lived in the Tangle with the Elves. She was born with a natural immunity to the effects of the glistening oil and no metal in her body. She has since discovered that she is able to give this immunity to others as well.

Melira has an interesting story. Known as the "Fleshling", due to the lack of metal in her body, since birth, Melira was abandoned in the forests of the Tangle immediately after she was born. She was rescued by Thrun, the last troll, who cared for her. After Mirrodin fell, Melira became a central figure in the Resistance. Her immunity to the glistening oil allowed her, and her followers, to be protected from the effects of phyresis, giving much needed hope to the survivors. After the transformation of the Tangle, she was captured.

Melira was freed by Elspeth Tirel, Koth, and Venser from Tezzeret's clutches, who said she was his gift to them because she was completely immune to the effects of phyresis. Elspeth grew very close to and protective of Melira. The companions eventually reached the furnace layer and found Ezuri's rebel camp, where they were welcomed. It was here that Melira's ability to grant immunity to the phyresis was discovered. She healed all those in the camp who were infected by the oil, working non-stop for several days while Elspeth sat with her in the tent. Once everyone in the camp was healed, a council was called in which Ezuri, hoping to become more influential, invited Melira to stay with them while subtly telling her companions to leave. Melira said she would leave with them, however, and Elspeth and the others prepared to travel to the core to try to find Karn. While they were leaving, the camp was attacked by Tezzeret's Phyrexians, and the companions found a guide to take them to the core. They escaped the battle and followed the guide, of whom only Elspeth was trusting. During a battle whilst on their way, Koth became angry at the party for ignoring the surface war. He took Melira and left, leaving Venser and Elspeth alone with the guide.

Phyrexians captured Elspeth Tirel and Venser, but Koth and Melira reappeared and freed them before sneaking away. By the time the Phyrexians realized that their captives were gone, the party were already running. Venser's strength, however, was wearing thin, and they were forced to stop. He was able to concoct an explosive from the metal on the walls and blow up part of the tunnel, sealing it temporarily, but a group of Phyrexians, led by Glissa Sunseeker, broke through. Tezzeret appeared and his forces battled with Glissa's, allowing the companions to escape and reach Karn's throne room uninterrupted. There, they found Karn being corrupted by the Phyrexian oil, and Melira told them that his heartstone was already corrupted and only a sacrifice could cure him. Venser told the others that he was dying and had been for years, and that he was likely unable to last much longer. With his last strength, Venser gave his immunity to Karn, curing the golem at the cost of his life. Cured and lucid once again, Karn asked Koth to begin organizing and leading the resistance with Melira to try to cleanse Mirrodin, no matter how long it would take.

Koth and Melira returned to the refugee camp near the Radix in the Furnace Layer. The camp is now called Seedling, named after a story told to Melira by Thrun.

One by one, the leaders of the Resistance pledged their support, but our movements in the Furnace layer did not go unnoticed. It was only a matter of time before Urabrask the Hidden would find out about us. His main concern is that the furnaces and the work being carried out be not hindered or disrupted in any way. But being Red aligned has caused him and his followers to feel empathy towards the refugees. That is why Urabrask decided to give the command, "Let them be."

But now our movements have caught his attention. Kinda hard to miss that floating crystal above, moving with us, and the enormous Darksteel Juggernaut that always accompanies us. And the presence of Karn himself.

We now detect the tell-tale signs of being tracked. Our first impression is of Urabrask the Hidden as the one tracking us. We immediately teleport everyone, including the Darksteel Juggernaut, inside Chris, just to be sure. Because we do not know how he would react to us being here, let a lone that we intend to destroy what he is helping the other Phrexians to build. We do understand that since he is aligned with the red mana, he has empathy with the refugees. That is why they have been allowed to stay in his domain. We also understand that he will not allow the furnaces and the work associated with it, to be disrupted in any way. This is a very delicate situation. We also know that he does not associate with the others. So if the one or more of the other Praetors, or one or more of the other Generals should show up in the Furnace Layer, he may get defensive.

"Chris, invisibility cloak, Now!" Black Knight said to Chris, telepathically.

"Where'd they all go?"

"They were here a moment ago."

"They just vanished!"

"They have hidden themselves," said Urabrask.

"Where have they hidden themselves?"

"Not sure," said Urabrask. "Hard to pinpoint. The reports of talking wolves seems to be accurate. As well as the presence of Karn and a number of the Resistance. I have seen Jor Kadeen, Melira, and Ezuri among them as well. Something big is brewing, and it may not bode well for Phyrexia."

"What do you mean?"

"Glissa is also among them," Urabrask said. "And she is as she was before. They must know how to reverse the effects of the the oil completely."

"Reverse the effects of the oil?"

"Yes," said Urabrask. "And what was done to her to complete the transformation into a Phyrexian. Glissa is what she was before."

"I still don't understand, how can she be the way she was before? What did they do to her?"

"They reversed everything."

"Reversed?" How?"

"Unknown."

We had been monitoring the little conversation that Urabrask was having with those that were with him. And we all thought that maybe a telepathic message to Urabrask might help.

"We know that because of the Red Mana, you have decided to let the refugees stay here. We also understand that you will not let the work of the furnaces be stopped or hindered in anyway. We do not wish to interfere with that. But we do want to stop the oppressive dominion of Mirrodin by the Phyrexians, which is why the refugees are here in the first place. Will you help us?"

"No," said Urabrask.

"Phyrexians fear unknown change," Karn says to Black Knight and the others. "They have been trying to reshape Mirrodin into their original home plane which according to documented writings of my creator Urza was the twisted creation of the master of darkness Yawgmoth himself.

"While we are a known factor, you and your pack are foreign variables and because of this, I fear they will not rest until we are either all killed or worse, turned into evil oil filled versions of themselves."

Jace agrees. "I and Karn will use our abilities to keep them from locating us as well as to try to reawaken the long sleeping elemental and spirit guardians of Mirrodin, but while we do so I would appreciate it if you impart to Glissa and the others the tactics you used to defeat the Zigonians and Lords of Sin back in Superhero City. We are merely tacticians now in this age, but you are true generals and the refugees see you as a bright light of hope."

As we were helping the others with our battle knowledge in one of Chris' rooms, Geth gets called away on an urgent mission, one that we manufactured for him, so that there will be only one general to deal with, instead of 2. Tezzeret is still on the way to the furnace level though. And he's madder than an old wet hen, as the saying goes.

"Why are you here, Tezzeret?", demanded Urabrask.

"There are some talking wolves that are causing some trouble," said Tezzeret. "They have even somehow managed to reverse the effects of the oil on Glissa. She's not one of us anymore. And she's siding with the Resistance... and the talking wolves!"

"So why are you in MY domain?" Urabrask demanded still.

"Because the troublemakers are here. In your domain!" replied Tezzeret.

"I can handle my own affairs without your help," said Urabrask.

"But I've come here to put an end to all of their troublemaking, as well as that of the Resistance!"

"This is MY domain, and I will handle what goes on here!"

"We know of your hiding those of the Resistance here in the Furnace Layer."

"As long as production isn't disrupted, I don't care."

"Well, you'd better care, because they mean to undo all the hard work that we've already put into making this, New Phyrexia," Tezzeret said, with a wave of his hand.

Monitoring the conversation between the Praetor and the General, we contemplated on what our next move should be. We know that Urabrask did not like the others, and especially did not like his domain being invaded by them. And since he was also protecting the Mirran refugees, he sealed off all but one entrance to the Furnace Layer, the Kuldotha, located in the Oxidda Chain, as the only entrance. But now, since his secret was known, and his domain is being invaded to wipe out the refugees, and the Resistance, Urabrask was in an awkward position. He was being defensive right now, but he also knew that he had a choice to make. What will he decide? Only time will tell, and that time was coming upon him quickly....

While we continued to monitor the situation below, the rest of us were on board Chris spread out in a number of the rooms. Some were eating, some were in the control room, and some were in the training rooms.....

Chow Time! I love to eat!

You're always hungry, Wolf. Honestly, I don't see where you put it all.

In his stomach! You know he's more wolflike than the rest of us.

I know, but all he thinks about is eating!

So.... I like to eat! What's the big deal?

You just ate a half hour ago!

I got hungry again.

You're always hungry! Cubs!

Meanwhile....

"These are our training rooms," said Dark Wolf to the others. "You can create any kind of environment you want."

"Squee know how to make room work!"

"It's easy enough for even Squee to use! Chris can teach you," said WarHead.

"Squee show you."

And with that, Squee pushed his three buttons once again.

"Tolarian Academy. Dominara." was all Squee said.

"A lot has happened there," said Karn. "The Academy was destroyed in the invasion."

"Wow! These rooms are awesome!" exclaimed one of the guests, a young elf from the Tangle. "Sorry to hear about the Tolarian Academy on Dominara."

"That was a long time ago. But now we face the task of restoring Mirrodin to what it once was. The contamination must be cleansed!"

"Yes, and that is why we are here. These rooms can help you training for the upcoming battles. Just to let you know, when we train in these rooms, we've used no safety protocols, and died numerous times," said WarHead.

"You've all died... numerous times?"

"Yes. We're werewolves, we are very hard to kill."

"We can regenerate our bodies rather quickly, even from a single cell, if necessary," said Spike.

"Incredible!" exclaimed several of the guests.

"Urabrask and Tezzeret are fighting!" exclaimed Black Knight, both audibly and telepathically.

Furnace production came to a halt as the two factions began to engage in battle.

"It looks like Urabrask has made a decision. He's fighting with Tezzeret mostly because he's defending his territory, but I think the refugees may play a small part in his decision, that and the fact that he doesn't like Tezzeret to begin with."

While the 2 factions fought, Jace got called away to his home plane of Ravnica. And so we watched as the Praetor and the General duke it out. When it seemed that Urabrask was close to loosing, Black Knight sent this telepathic message to him:

"Would you like for us to help you?"

Urabrask was stunned for a moment while he considered all the implications of the help that was being offered.

Urabrask's response: (To Be Continued!)

Urabrask's Decision.

.... Continued...

"I will allow you to help, only IF, AND ONLY, IF, YOU allow me to do business as usual."

" I will agree, IF, AND ONLY, IF, I can fulfill it!" said Black Knight.

"Then, I suppose, that will have to do," said Urabrask. "Please help."

"Be glad to," said Black Knight.

With the battle raging for what seemed like an eternity, Tezzeret's forces began dwindling fairly quickly, now that the Dark Wolves and the Resistance fighters have joined in with Urabrask to defeat the General. Glissa had dealt with Tezzeret before, on more than one occasion. So she knew that defeating Tezzeret himself would be rather difficult. As would Geth, when the time came. But for now, we faced the task of defeating Tezzeret.

Tezzeret is a planeswalker who wields blue magic. His specialty is artifice: spells that forge artifacts, manipulate artifacts, and even bring artifacts to life.

Tezzeret was a talented artificer from the Alara shard of Esper. Like all Esperites, he has part of his body "enhanced" by the magical alloy etherium, part of an overarching planar venture to create perfection of both body and mind.

Tezzeret became an initiate of a mage sect called the Seekers of Carmot in order to gain access to the Codex Etherium, a sacred tome the sect claims to have in its possession. When he intruded into the sanctum of the Seekers, he uncovered truths that others didn't want him to find, and he found himself trapped in a conspiracy much larger than himself.

Mortally wounded by the guards of the Codex Etherium on the shard of Alara called Esper, Tezzeret's spark ignited, hurling his battered body through the Blind Eternities to Grixis, where he laid dying. Revived by the scheming dragon Nicol Bolas, Tezzeret was forced to accept servitude in exchange for his life.

Bolas allowed Tezzeret to believe he had seized control of part of his network, a cabal known as the Infinite Consortium. On the plane of Ravnica, from which Tezzeret led the Consortium, he recruited fellow planeswalker Jace Beleren, hoping to use him as a powerful pawn. But Jace had other ideas, defeating Tezzeret in combat and erasing his mind almost completely. Bolas retrieved his servant's body from the æther, rebuilding it for a sinister new task.

Later, Bolas sent Tezzeret to the plane of Mirrodin to observe the growth of Phyrexia, report its progress, and prevent leadership from taking hold. Tezzeret, using his wit and guile, established himself within the Phyrexian hierarchy. As always, he watches for an opportunity to gain power and turn the situation to his advantage.

And now, as a General, this human planeswalker, with enhancements from the etherium, poses as a formidable enemy that must be defeated. Using his abilities, he creates some new, much more powerful Myr to aid him in this battle. Karn responds by summoning his Myr into the battle.

The DarkSteel Juggernaut lends it's abilities and huge indestructible metal body to the fight. And the Wolves begin to use some new abilities that they have acquired on their stay here on Mirrodin. These new abilities are referred to as "MetalCraft Abilities". With 3 or more artifacts in the battle, they can now use these new abilities. The tides of battle turn at any given moment....

... To Be Continued.

The battle continues to rage as the two sides continue to clash. One side winning, then the other. Back and forth it goes, with seemingly no end in sight....

Then, something happened.

In a united attack against Tezzeret himself; Karn, Glissa, Urabrask, and Chris & the Wolves all use their most devastating abilities which exile Tezzeret to the plane known as the Graveyard.

Message from Jace:

"Congrats you have done well to defeat Tezzeret the Seeker. But alas the battle is not over yet for behold he has a deadlier form known as Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas. Also, just like the Wolves have Metalcraft, beware the Infect and the Phyrexian Mana abilities. ...... Transmission ending...beware Gorgon Walker...Gideon and Elspeth know trail..."

beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeppppppppp static...

Chris: "I believe that he was referring to the Gorgon Planeswalker, Vraska the Unseen."

Background notes: Vraska is a Planeswalker who wields a suite of deadly spells that suit her gorgon nature. She specializes in magic that involves assassination, stealth, and petrification.

During her time on Ravnica, Vraska has provided certain dark services to the Golgari guild. Her magic helps her track her chosen mark through the fungus-choked tunnels of the undercity, allows her to destroy her victims quietly, and when necessary, lets her summon shadowy killers to do her dirty work for her. The Golgari see her as a useful enigma, a shadowy death specialist who only responds to the jobs she wants, and who requests strange favors and obscure trophies in return. Vraska stays largely out of the guild politics on Ravnica and seems to care little for the inner workings of the Golgari Swarm. She gets the job done and departs again, not to be seen until there's another mission that interests her.

Vraska's power is clear, but her true motivations are a mystery, even to other gorgons. Unknown to the Golgari Swarm, she spends a significant portion of her time on planes other than Ravnica, using her death-dealing operations to build experience. She also gathers souvenirs of her journeys, slowly adding to her collections of trophies and petrified victims across many worlds.

Karn: "Vraska's here?!!... Yes, she is...."

Black Knight: "Wonder who she's after...."

The Contest

With Bolas resurrecting Tezzeret from the Graveyard and making him even stronger, and now this new threat Vraska the Unseen, our tasks aren't getting any easier.

"You Wolves interests me," came a voice from seemingly everywhere. "I have not seen the likes of you before. You aren't like any of the other werewolves I've encountered," Vraska said as she materialized off to the side of the group of heroes. "You retain your intelligence when you change. And you can change it will. You have superpowers and magic abilities and are warriors unlike any I've encountered before. And you're hard to kill. This all intrigues me. I propose a little contest. You win, I leave you alone. I win, and you Wolves become my trophies. And I don't take no for an answer."

"Well then, I guess the game is on then," said Black Knight.

"I'll even allow your intriguing little ship, Chris, help you out. She interests me as well. Can't turn her into stone because she's already a living crystal. Never seen the likes of her before either. The others may not interfere with our little contest."

And with that, Vraska, Chris, and the Dark Wolves all vanish to another plane that Vraska created for the Contest.

When we materialized in this new plane, we noticed that Vraska wasn't there with us. We immediately went on high alert, looking for any signs of our opponent. Her attacks seem to come from all directions.

"She's summoned some creatures to attack us while she remains hidden," said Black Knight.

"Very good Black Knight," came the voice from everywhere. "I'm impressed."

"Actually, we are in telepathic communication with each other as well as with Chris. I didn't need to say anything at all. We already knew."

"I'm doubly impressed. You're all trying to track me!" Vraska said with an evil laugh that came from everywhere all at once.

"It's your plane, therefore, you can be anywhere you want to be. Even everywhere all at once!"

"Again, very good Black Knight!"

As she begins to materialize, we hit her with our most powerful abilities, simultaneously. The image vanishes.

"Missed me!"

"She's toying with us, like a cat would play with it's prey before it kills it."

"Again, very good."

Then, suddenly, Wolf was petrified. Then Awesome George. Then Wolf's Bane. And just as suddenly, the Wolves all seem to multiply, even the ones that were petrified.

"We shed dead skin cells and hair all the time, and we can use those cells to regenerate quickly. Even create an army of ourselves," said Wolf's Bane.

"Incredible!" exclaimed Vraska's voice from everywhere.

Then, suddenly, we all attacked at one single point on this plane. Vraska's voice screamed in pain. We had found her! We all used our most devastating abilities on her. Then she lashed out with her most devastating ability, seemingly killing us all, including Chris! Then something unexpected happened. Our Sparks ignited and we all became planeswalkers!

To Be Continued....

The Blind Eternities

Every once in awhile, a being is born with a Planeswalker's Spark. When that being is put through a period of extreme stress—in many cases death—the spark can trigger, causing the individual to ascend and become a planeswalker. So for each of our intrepid heroes to have one is quite rare. When a Spark is ignited, the new planeswalker is momentarily dipped into the Blind Eternities, the space between planes in the Multiverse. It is filled with chaotic energies, mainly an energy called the Æther, but also mana and temporal energy. Only planeswalkers, and the most powerful, godlike beings can enter it and survive its rough environment.

So when Chris and the Wolves' Sparks ignited, they momentarily found themselves here in this chaotic mess.

When they found themselves back in the plane where the Contest was being held, they heard a very surprised Vraska exclaim, "Are there no end to your surprises? Never detected your sparks until they ignited!"

The Contest Continues

"But that would mean..." Wolf started.

"You're all planeswalkers now," Vraska finished. "Let's see what you can do."

_____________________________

Now Jace and Karn had already explained the five colors of Mana to Chris and the Wolves. A planeswalker needs Mana to cast their spells. Mana comes from different types of land and is driven by different values:

White - Plains - Order, Protection, Light, Law.

Blue - Islands - Knowledge, Manipulation, Illusion.

Black - Swamps - Darkness, Ambition, Death.

Red - Mountains - Freedom, Emotion, Impulse.

Green - Forests - Growth, Instinct, Nature.

Each of the five colors of magic has two ally colors and two enemy colors:

White is allied with green and blue. White mana and green mana share values of holism, order, and community. White and blue mana share values of thoughtfulness, structure, and progress.

White mana opposes red mana through the conflicts of order vs. chaos, defense vs. offense, and strategy vs. spontaneity. White mana opposes black mana through the conflicts of light vs. darkness, purity vs. corruption, and the needs of the many vs. the needs of the individual.

Blue is allied with white and black. Blue and white mana share values of thoughtfulness, structure, and progress. Blue and black mana share values of secrecy, manipulation, and desire for omniscience.

Blue mana opposes red mana through the conflicts of water vs. fire, logic vs. emotion, and thought vs. action. Blue mana opposes green mana through the conflicts of the artificial vs. the natural, illusion vs. reality, and stultification vs. growth.

Black is allied with red and blue. Black and blue mana share the values of secrecy, manipulation, and desire for omniscience. Black and red mana share the values of individualism, instant gratification, and self-interest.

Black mana opposes white mana through the conflicts of darkness vs. light, corruption vs. purity, and the needs of the individual vs. the needs of the many. Black mana opposes green mana through the conflicts of death vs. life, decay vs. growth, and greed vs. abundance.

Red is allied with black and green. Red mana and black mana share the values of individualism, instant gratification, and self-interest. Red and green mana share the values of action, base urges, and connection to the earth.

So upon hearing that they were all planeswalkers now, each one already knows which colors best fitted them. White, Blue, and Green.

And with that she attacked furiously, seemingly from all directions, but the Wolves easily countered the attacks and launched some uncounterable attacks of their own. Then they used Hexproof to become untargetable to spells and attacks. With these new abilities that they were quickly discovering that they had, Vraska soon realized that this was quickly becoming a no win situation. So the Black and Green aligned Gorgan Walker needed a trick up her sleeve. She could counter attacks and spells and use Hexproof too, but there were more of them and they were quickly learning what their new abilities were. But she was an experienced planeswalker, and they were just newbies. She needed a strategy, so, she summoned her imps from before and unleashed a swarm of Killer Bees to distract them. And then she used Terror to try to frighten them to death.

To be continued....

The Wolves suddenly realize what Vraska is doing. So they used Clan Defiance and targeted them all, wiping out all the creatures she had summoned and weakening her considerably. And then they used Exile to send her to the plane known as the Graveyard. It took her awhile to regenerate, but she eventually escaped from the Graveyard and returned to the plane of Ravnica, using a unique time traveling twist that she had come up with so she wouldn't be missed back on Ravnica, which she can only use one or two more times - and at a great cost to herself.

With Vraska defeated, the plane she had created for the Contest was dissolved and Chris and the Wolves were returned to the others.

Ripples

As we continued on our journey to the center of the Core of Mirrodin, we suddenly felt a very strong wave of energy pass through us.

"It's both temporal energy and rift energy," said Karn, "very unusual."

"Chris has pinpointed it as originating on or near Earth," said Dark Wolf.

"Something bad is happening, the timeline has been altered," said Spike.

"Amazons are invading the Undercity in search of technology,"said Black Knight slowly. "But how did I know that?"

"As a planeswalker, you now have new abilities of which you are still discovering," said Karn. "You are needed there to help set things right."

"But we are needed here too," said Wolf's Bane. "We can't be in two places at the same time, can we?"

"Chris says that she detects another wave coming," said Awesome George. "It'll be here in a few minutes, and more are on the way."

Karn thought for a moment and then said, "There is a way to be in two places at the same time. But it can only be done once, and you'll have to recombine within 1 week, or you will all die."

"Recombine? Die? Sounds dangerous," said Wolf. "but intriguing."

"Yes, it is dangerous," said Karn. "I can help, since I am the only planeswalker to be able to use all 5 colors of Mana."

"If this is necessary, then we need to do this," said Black Knight. "How do we do this?"

"First we will all need to increase the amount of all five colors in our Mana Pools," said Karn.

"Mana Pools?" they asked in unison.

"A Mana Pool is where each of you draws from when you use spells and abilities. And we will need quite a bit of each of the 5 colors. There are a variety of ways to increase Mana production, and we will need to use them all," Karn said. "When we are ready, you will all be split into 2 of each of you, at the moment the next wave passes through. One group will stay here and I will help the other group with their first planeswalk to your world. When you recombine, you will remember everything from both sets of experiences."

So our little group began summoning creatures and using spells that increase Mana production, and when they were ready, Karn tapped into their Mana Pools and used his abilities to split them into 2 groups when the next wave passed through.

"Woah, that was a bit unsettling," said the 2 Black Knights simultaneously. "And so is this!"

"Now, to help the first group planeswalk to your world," said Karn. "After i've helped you, you'll know how to do it again and come back here."

So Karn helped them open up the gateway to walk the Path through the Blind Eternities to the plane where the Earth exists.

Group 2

After sending off group 1, group 2 and the others continued on. As they traveled, Karn tried to explain some more things that they should know, and taught them about some of the new abilities and spells they now have access to. And then he said, "I can only teach you so much. The one called Belgarath would be most likely able to teach you what I cannot. You will need to go back in time to when he lived. But we need to finish our missions first."

(For more information about Belgarath, goto this link: http://davideddings.wikia.com/wiki/Belgarath)

As they continued on their journey, they encountered Garruk Wildspeaker (See: http://wiki.mtgsalvation.com/article/Garruk_Wildspeaker for more information.) Garruk traveled with the Wolves for a while, instructing them along the way. He eventually had to depart, because he had his own agenda, and needed to be elsewhere.

The group eventually came across the new and improved Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas. A battle ensued, and Tezzeret was once again sent to the Graveyard, from which he eventually escaped, but after Mirrodin was freed from the influences of the Glistening Oil (otherwise known as Phyrexian Oil).

The group eventually came to the center of the Core, the source of the Mycosynth. (Mycosynth was a strange metallic, fungal organism created due to corruption of Mirrodin with Phyrexian oil. Mycosynth was released in spores throughout the plane, changing metal to flesh, and consequently caused metallic growths in the skin of organic beings while simultaneously converting artifact creatures into living organisms. Large towers of the substance built up in Mirrodin's Core in elaborate lattices while golems composed of the substance also came into being (whether spontaneously or by Memnarch's will is unknown).)

It was here , that we found the Bloodstone Foundry (also known as the Heart Stone, that once served as Karn's heart, and the source of the contamination.) It was here, that Melira brought her special ability into play. The Heart Stone now pumps out the cure, instead of the curse of the Phyrexian Oil! Mirrodin slowly begins the transformation back to it once was, before it's contamination. The process took nearly a year.

But the Wolves were soon joined again with their other-selves, after the week had passed, augmenting their knowledge, in the meantime. And Just right after they met Garruk.

Urabrask's Rebellion

Shortly after the week had past, and we were one group again, instead of two, we told Urabrask about the Undercity. We thought that he and his people could dwell there in safety, after he helped us get things cleaned up on Mirrodin/New Phyxia. By the time we were done, there wouldn't be any Amazons left there, and the place would be deserted again. Urabrask and his people could dwell there in peace. No one would bother them there. He liked the idea of having a place where no one would bother them. And he and his people could work with B.A.D.G.E. and the other superheros to defend SHC and the Earth. It would give them something to do.

So he and his people began to attack the other Praetors, one by one, until they were all defeated. then he helped us with the remaining Generals. And once the Bloodstone Foundry was pumping out the cure for the Oil instead of the Oil itself, the changes started to happen almost immediately at the the center of the Core where the Mycosynth and Karn's Throne was at. It was also here that the Panopticon, the mad golem Memnarch's Darksteel Citadel was located.

Epilogue

After Mirodin was completely cleansed of all the effects of the Oil, Urabrask and his people settled in the Undercity of SHC after it had been completely cleared out of all remaining Amazons. Karn and Squee went with the Wolves to Trikonia, now that Chris' time circuits have been repaired. The Gramleks were defeated, and the time loop was closed. Karn and Squee taught the Wolves much during the whole thing, and continued with them for quite some time, even after they all returned to Earth.

And this is the end of this epic adventure.
