(Warning - the following may contain mild, costume-related SPOILERS for Daredevil season 2. Proceed with whatever level of caution your natural SPOILER-aversion suggests is wise...)

Now, in terms of working out just what we're going to see in a TV show or movie, posters aren't always the most reliable source of information. After all, for every promo image filled with juicy plot spoilers and casting reveals, there's another designed by someone who hasn't actually seen the series or film in question, and who's just improvising wildly.

Thankfully, though, Marvel Studios has historically seemed far more inclined towards the former, which means it's probably pretty darned reasonable to get completely over-excited about the fact that...

This New Daredevil Poster Totally Seems to Be Teasing His Iconic All Red Costume

Yup, that's right. From the looks of that there poster, specially designed for this weekend's New York Comic-Con, it sure does seem as though Marvel and Netflix's second season of Daredevil is going to see the arrival of a shiny new costume for its titular hero - one that combines the basic design from Season 1...

...with the iconic, full-red imagery of DD's classic comic book costume:

That, though, isn't even the most exciting part of that particular piece of costume design. Y'see, there might just be an absolutely huge plot tease hiding in this particular poster (and I'm not talking about the awesome Punisher Easter egg lurking in the background)...

That plot tease?

Daredevil Might Just Be Set to Join Up With the Hand

That's right - strange as it might sound, that poster might - might - just be hinting at an on-screen appearance for the classic comic book storyline in which Daredevil wound up leading (notorious ninja group) the Hand (with predictably terrible consequences). The reason?

Well, remember how the Hand's appearance thus far in the MCU has been pretty much entirely based on that one badass fight scene with (memorably awesome ninja) Nobu?

Well, to the extent that the Hand have actually been established by that sequence, all we really know is that they're defined by wearing red.

Which, as things stand, Daredevil himself...only kind of does:

Were DD to shift to an all-red suit so soon after having his first full version designed for him, then, it's entirely possible that it could have something to do with him getting involved with the dastardly ninja clan - much as he did in the comic books. If nothing else, that'd certainly bring some tension between him and the newly arrived Punisher...

Or, y'know, he might just really like red...

What do you reckon, though?
