We all love a good soppy movie scene and so I thought I'd showcase some of the greatest. Members at Only Dates have picked their top six romantic movies, so here is an unmissable list of the best scenes! Let me know in the comments below if you think any others deserve to be on here!
Prepare to fall in love with these films all over again...
Of course I had a few scenes to choose from this movie, but I have gone for the classic drawing scene. Rose asks Jack to draw her wearing only her incredibly large ocean blue diamond. At this point it is the middle of the movie and Rose and Jack are starting to fall in love. Warm lighting and intense stares make this a top scene.
2. Romeo + Juliet
This is the scene where they first meet. Juliet and Romeo catch a glimpse of each other through the fish tank at the great hall. So much is going on in the background but the only thing they focus on is each other. This is just the start of the tragic love story that captured our hearts.
3. The Notebook
Firstly, it is worth mentioning that if this film didn't give you a tear in your eye, then you have a heart of ice! Although it was particularly difficult to mention one scene, as the whole film is pretty soppy, I went with the kiss in the rain; everyone's perfect dream kiss. As they come back after a lovely boat trip along the river, it starts to rain heavily. Rushing back to the dock, Allie asks Noah why he never wrote to her and that she thinks it is too late for a reconciliation. Noah states that he wrote to her everyday for a year, and that it wasn't over and it still ISN'T over. Suddenly he grabs Allie for the kiss... the kiss of passion and love.
Of course, the famous the pottery scene. Molly is at home at her pottery wheel when the jukebox in her apartment switches to ‘Unchained Melody’ and the music fills the room. Her boyfriend, Sam, approaches and sits behind her and reaches out. Which accidentally ruins her pot. They start a new one together , with hands intertwined with her molding the wet clay. Sam begins to kiss Molly and the pot is abandoned in the heat.
5. Bridget Jones's Diary
While Bridget is getting changed into some sexy underwear, Mark notices how she has written some rather unkind comments in her diary about him, albeit a while ago. Realizing that he has read her diary, she panics and thinks that he has done a runner. Bridget runs out into the snowy street after him but he is not there! She is about to return home when he appears with a new diary for her to make a fresh start. They share a kiss in the snow.
6. 10 Things I Hate About You
In this scene, bad boy Patrick, played by the late Heath Ledger, comes out of his comfort zone to serenade his crush, Kat. He gets one of the students at school to play music through the sports stadium speakers while he dances and sings ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You’ . Bit cringy, but sweet all the same!
