I'm going to need everyone to go ahead and be quiet.
No seriously, shush! There is no point in complaining. There never has been. If someone wants to do something there isn't a thing in the world you can do. Your complaining isn't going to stop Hollywood from making something. Whether it be good or bad.
You act as if you complain about something on social media that magically a movie you disagree with isn't going to get made. No one in the movie making business would dare sacrifice all the money they are going to make just because YOU don't like something. "I CAN'T BELIEVE CHANNING TATUM IS GOING TO BE PLAYING GAMBIT! THIS IS AN ABOMINATION!" Well while I do disagree with you on that because it couldn't be any worse than the last Gambit we got on the big screen (knock on wood) but also you know you can just NOT GO AND SEE THE MOVIE!
Is that so difficult of a concept to grasp? Your complaining like someone in a turban is going to strap you to a chair and force you to watch the new Fantastic Four movie. You make your own choices in this world. If you don't want to do something (write this down) Don't Do It. Movies you disagree with are going to get made with or without your consent. And they will continue to be made long after you are dead.
I don't particularly care for Rhonda Rousey taking the reigns of Roadhouse. Mainly cause I don't care for her in general BUT, that doesn't mean I'm going to piss and moan about it. Mainly because I Do Not Care. If something does not directly influence or affect my life, I couldn't even try to care less about it. So when I see a movie is being TALKED ABOUT (I'll get to that in a second) I just keep scrolling and get to something worth my time like finding out what the cast of The Goonies looks like now.
You people know that a lot of movie talk is just that right? TALK! Why when someone does there own fan casting the internet explodes with outrage as if Donald Glover was ever gonna play Spiderman to begin with. Come on people, just because a celebrity WANTS to play a certain person in a certain film doesn't mean you have be up in arms over it. I personally would love to play Batman and none of you give a s***. Outrage over that why don't you.
And if you think that someone taking over or remaking something is going to ruin your childhood, you need to go ahead and pass your opinion license forward cause it is now void. That is the weakest excuse for not liking something before it even comes out. Your childhood wont be ruined you're an adult, your childhood is over, set in stone, not happening again. It's in the past. You cannot ruin something that has already happened. You can not like a movie because it wasn't right with the original material, but saying it ruined your childhood makes you sound ......................dumb. That's all I got to say to you on that one. ...............dumb.
Which all just leads me back to my first point. Don't go watch the movie. Movies are expensive enough as it is. It's probably going to cost me at least a thousand dollars to go see avengers 5 when that comes out. So you have a right to be picky when it comes to the movies you want to see. To that same token however, some of us want these remakes only if they stay true to the original material and they do it justice with updated technology and story line. The reason you are complaining saying it ruined your childhood is because sometimes they don't. But you don't have to worry about that because in another 20 years they are probably going to remake "Point Break" again anyway.
We are in a golden age of unoriginal ideas. So trust me when I say the movies you do not want to be touched by Hollywood will be. Just because they haven't remade "The Breakfast Club" doesn't mean they wont. I mean hell they remade Spiderman just ten years apart from each other (yes I know they had to due to contract obligations that said they have to make a new movie every so many years or forfeit the character back to Marvel but that's neither here nor there.) My point is complaining on the internet is not going to stop these things.
And one more thing. When these movies are being filmed they aren't looking at you to approve. You already saw the original movie. You know what's going to happen most likely. These are updated and remade for the people who didn't see the original. I will admit right here and now I didn't see the original "Red Dawn" until the remake was into production. Which is what they want. They want sales to drive up for the remake just so people will go out and buy the original as well. Whether it be to compare or for nostalgia. Either way they win. So complaining is moot at this point in game.
Of course this may all just be me.
