It's Morphin' Time...again!

After it was announced that Lionsgate was rebooting the '90s classic Mighty Morphin Power Ranger, one question immediately emerged in all of our minds: Who will be chosen to don those colorful suits and become the new Rangers?

Now, we've gotten the first official casting news, and it's one of the big guns!

The Pink Ranger is reporting for duty

Naomi Scott, who most recently appeared in Ridley Scott's The Martian, will be playing Kimberley Hart, who is eventually selected to fight the intergalactic forces of evil once she's infused with superpowers.

Though it's mostly just rumors at this stage for the 2017 release, this bit of casting news confirms that this movie is definitely happening and quickly starting to get off the ground. It will be interesting to see how they translate the Power Rangers for a new generation, but one thing's for sure...

Naomi's got some big shoes to fill

Amy Jo Johnson introduced us to the character to life back in the '90s and quickly inspired way too many of us to take up gymnastics. Or, that may have just been me. Something tells me stalwart fans are still holding this Kimberley close to their hearts, but I'm really excited to see how this turns out.

We're still waiting on the rest of the casting news, any plot details, and an official release date, but the Pink Ranger is a quality start!
