I went into this, the opening night film of the London Film Festival, expecting an Oscar-bait type of film.
And although it is present, with the inclusion of a three minute Streep, this film is much more than just an Oscar movie, and that's down to the material. And the relevance of the film at the present time. The feminist movement is a massive part of culture, and accessing at a humanist balanced lifestyle still seems like a bit of a fantasy.
This movie reminds how long women have been fighting for equality, and although not perfect is a very well-made and utterly moving film.

I believe Carey Mulligan is almost locked for Best Leading Actress this year... At least in the Bafta's!
