The wait for the release date of No Man's Sky is a long and arduous one. Sean Murray has become famous for his 'soon' statements when asked about it, even by Colbert! But if you're a fan of what No Man's Sky could potentially be on its release date, there are plenty of ways to keep yourself active with similar games and awesome websites!

Space simulators and similarly themed titles are all the rage at the moment! We've even had the likes of Interstellar and The Martian in the film world captivate us to no end in recent months. But there's a new game on the horizon that I think any fan of No Man's Sky will simply adore. In August, Everspace became a hugely successful Kickstarter project, one that you all need to check out, but this little space game called Astroneer, has suddenly become one of my most anticipated games for 2016!

If You Like No Man's Sky, Here's Another Release Date to Pine For - Astroneer!

Much like No Mans Sky, Astroneer is without a release date. The developers have said that the little indie title should be out for PC in the first quarter of 2016. But let's not get too hopeful for that timeframe just yet. In any case, Astroneer looks like the most perfect marriage between No Mans Sky and the indelible masterpiece, Journey. I literally cannot think of a more beautiful crossover than these two. Though once The Swapper gets throw into the mix I'll never need another game!

The sudden development of technology for rapid space travel enables fast and inexpensive journeys to the stars. Like the Yukon gold rush of old, waves of adventurers sign up to launch themselves into a new frontier, risking everything to seek their fortune in the far reaches of the galaxy. These are the Astroneers.

The game is being developed by System ERA Softworks - hopefully a name we'll all come to know and respect in the future. The game promises to hold mysteries in its galaxy and tons of worlds to harvest and explore. The harvesting system is akin to that of No Man's Sky, with a similar art style to boot. Additionally, the movements of the characters and the sense of adventure and beauty can't help but remind us of ThatGameCompany's Journey.

No Mans Sky & Astroneer - A Love Affair With Space

We cannot wait to get our hands on this beautiful game! Though we hope it doesn't join [No Man's Sky](tag:2684052) and just tease us for months on end with a potential release date. Let us know what you think of Astroneer in the comments below and if you have any other games you think we'd like, let us know!
