Former 'N Sync member Lance Bass revealed he was a victim of pedophilia and sexual harassment this Wednesday on the Meredith Vieira Show. The 'Bye Bye Bye' singer, whose band members included Justin Timberlake and Joey Fatone, claimed that a music executive working with the young group back when they formed in 1995 had been 'oddly' touching all of the group inappropriately.
During a conversation regarding Ashley Judd's recent statements regarding sexual harassment in the '90s, Bass jumped in to remind people that it's not just women who can be victims.
"This also happens to men, too. It's a two-way street. It had happened to me. When we started there was someone that we worked with that was inappropriately touching us."
'N Sync's conversations regarding the incident never occurred outside of their group, who split in 2002, however Bass, now 36, claims that although he knew the occurrence was 'odd,' they never felt victimized.
"I was even aware then, at 16, that this guy was a pedophile and he was touching me oddly, but I didn't feel victimized at the time because I was very aware of it."
"We would kind of joke about it, but it's not a joking thing, but as a kid, it was just odd. I am glad that we were aware of it and we didn't feel victimized at the time."
