In recent years, it seems that the Dad Bod has come out top as the biggest trend for the male physique in Hollywood. And it seems that I'm not the only who is loving it.
Increasingly, people all over the world are raining down their praises on celebrities who embrace their body shapes and a positively balanced approach to life. Because c'mon, at the end of the day, you only live once and maintaining biceps the size of tree trunks all year round is not a viable, or an enjoyable, way to live. There's just something so much more attractive about men who seem more human and natural.
The following 8 celebrities know this only too well and aren't afraid to embrace what Mama Nature gave them. And when they aren't hitting the gym hard to get into shape for a certain role, they prefer to live it up and enjoy the pleasures of life, even if that means indulging in the odd slice of pizza or an ice cold beer from time to time.
1. Vin Diesel
This week, when graced with the glorious image of a slightly softer-looking Vin Diesel, the Internet rallied in defense of the Furious actor. And rightly so! Although admittedly we've never seen the father-of-three without his bulging muscles, we all agreed that he's still one of the coolest guys around, who definitely deserves to spend a few weeks away from weight-lifting to enjoy the simpler things in life.
And if Vinny isn't ashamed, why should we be critical? The actor posted this short and sweet response on his Facebook page, kicking all those haters out the door:
2. Jon Hamm
Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner advised Jon Hamm not to work out before taking on the role of sex god Don Draper in the award-winning show. For reasons of historical accuracy of course, because back then, men didn't really do it.
A slightly rounder, less-toned body was all the rage in the 1960s and let's be real, it's still pretty hot today. Keep it up, Jon!
3. Leonardo DiCaprio
Ultimate King of the Dad Bod movement, you really can't compete with Leo. I mean, the man is living the dream -- not only does he hang out on yachts with hoards of Victoria's Secret models, but he can also have his cake and eat it too.
Now that's a man who knows what he wants to get out of life!
4. Chris Pratt
Chris Pratt, what a man! Even before he buffed up for Guardians of the Galaxy and became a raptor-taming stud in Jurassic World, we already adored his cuddly torso and cushy love handles in Parks and Recreation.
I don't know about you guys, but at some point in the future when he's done saving the world, I'm pretty excited about seeing him chill out and let those lovable love handles grow back once and for all!
5. Jason Segel
Jason Segel proves that you don't need the ripped abs of an Adonis to play a lovable romantic lead in an awesome movie like Forgetting Sarah Marshall:
6. Johnny Depp
Recently, Johnny Depp attracted some criticism about his body. But I stand firmly by the fact that, as one of the hardest working actors in Hollywood, everyone should give Johnny a break. The man is 52-years-old for goodness sake, and no matter what you might say, it's not like you'd say no to cuddling up to him. Dad bod and all.
7. Seth Rogan
Seth continues to spread the positive message that men should never be ashamed of their wonderful bodies. And he does this by getting naked as frequently as possible, which I'm not going to object to at all.
Whether he's in front of the camera, relaxing on the beach, or just hanging out with his best pal James Franco, Seth's got it and he's not afraid to flaunt it.
8. Paul Rudd
It seems that these days, anyone partaking in any Marvel movie works towards polishing those abs of steel. And you can't argue that Paul Rudd looks pretty awesome as Ant-Man. However, I kind of miss the good old days when he rocked a huggable body like this. Just look at that smile of pure dad bod happiness. Amazing!
