Not much has been revealed about the new Wonder Woman solo movie. In fact, one of the few confirmed things that we do know is that Star Trek star Chris Pine will be playing Wonder Woman's love interest Steve Trevor. I wrote an article on how he would be a perfect Steve Trevor a long with some other roles Steve played in the DC comic book universe outside of being Wonder Woman's boyfriend which you can read here. And, of course, Monster director Patty Jenkins will be directing the solo Wonder Woman movie replacing Michelle MacLaren, Warner Bros original choice to direct the project.

Everything else has been rumor and speculation, but now Den of Geek is reporting that Wonder Woman will be a period piece which is a rumor we have heard before. Apparently Wonder Woman will be set in three different time periods and settings. According to Den of Geek and their sources, Wonder Woman is to start off in Themyscira better known as Paradise Island.

I think starting the movie in Themyscira is a great move. While origin stories for more well-known comic book characters like Batman can get old and repetitive; a origin movie for Wonder Woman is almost a necessity. Especially when you consider that the last Wonder Woman origin story told on any type of screen was back in the 1970s when Lynda Carter played Princess Diana on the popular TV series.

Call me crazy, but I think a new origin story will need to be made for a more modern Wonder Woman movie. The report continued saying that the second period would be during World War I in 1916. In the comics Wonder Woman was set in World War II. The change in time period may be to disassociate Wonder Woman with the feminist label. However, a more likely reason for the change would be not to follow in the footsteps of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first Avenger, Captain America.

While Captain America is a popular character among the movie going audience no one could blame Warner Bros. for not wanting to put themselves in a situation where the perception is that they tried to copy the success of the Captain America movie. The third period would be in modern day with the events of the Wonder Woman movie tying into the Justice League Part 1 movie.

I recently wrote an article about a personal theory of mine about how the Wonder Woman movie could possibly tie into Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League Part 1 that you can read here. Sure, my theory could be totally wrong, however, I find it exciting that the Wonder Woman movie will tie into Justice League no matter how it actually happens.

This new rumor or scoop is very exciting. Not only did we find out some very telling information about the upcoming Wonder Woman movie, but Den of Geek also is reporting that Wonder Woman will have a different costume to correspond with each time period. So, to sum it up, we will get a well needed Wonder Woman origin story on Themyscira, a period piece from the early 1900s and an tie into the Justice League Part 1 movie in modern day. I personally could not ask for much more. But I'm curious to know what you think!

Do you think three different time periods in one movie may be to much? Will it be confusing to the movie going audience? Please share your thoughts below.
