Today was the last day of shooting in Toronto for the Shadowhunters cast. They finally rapped up all 12 episodes for season one and are headed home to relax. Leaving us wiggling for January to hurry and bring us the TV series. We've seen filming photos, got the chance to ask the cast questions and even see some behind-the-scenes photos of the sexy male actors working out. Now it's time to check out the first official promo trailer of Shadowhunters TV series based on Cassandra Clare bestselling young adult novels The Mortal Instruments.

They first posted this video via the show's official Snapchat giving many fan, including myself, a heart attack. Thanks to Aussie Shadowhunters for uploading it on YouTube for all the non-Snapchat users. Before Constantin Films took a swing at adapting it into a TV series they did a film back in 2013. It didn't go over very well with fans or in box office, the film had a $120 million budget and only made $81 million worldwide. Do you see how bad it was? Luckily their taking the TV approach this time.

By doing a TV series they get the chance to show us more content of the Shadowhunters world and it stops them from having to cram every single thing into a 130 minute movie. Constantin's Martin Moszkowicz said to THR “It actually makes sense to do (the novels) as a TV series.” He also added “There was so much from the book that we had to leave out of the 'Mortal Instruments' film. In the series we'll be able to go deeper and explore this world in greater detail and depth.”

Isn't the cast just jaw-dropping gorgeous, god I can't wait for this series to air - it's going to kick some major ass! Below I had shared a summary of what the storyline will mostly be based around.

"In New York City, a seemingly ordinary teenager named Clary Fray (Katherine McNamara) learns that she is descended from a line of Shadowhunters -- half-angel warriors who protect humanity from evil forces. After her mother (Maxim Roy) disappears, Clary joins forces with a group of Shadowhunters and enters Downworld, an alternate realm filled with demons, vampires and a host of other creatures. Clary and her companions must find and protect an ancient cup that holds the key to her mother's future." - via Google

So what do you guys think of the promo trailer, cast - pretty much everything? Because I'm jumping with joy. Super stoked to finally see the series this January, so let's wait out these last couple of months together. Thanks for reading and comment below what you think of the trailer!
