For my third movie in this little 31 Days of Halloween challenge, I’ve decided to choose a very underrated title.. The Uninvited. Before you go ahead reading this article two warnings: for the first warning, if you have not seen this film, then some spoilers may be ahead so read at your own risk. For the second warning, if you are not into those psychological type horror films that include a twist at the end, then this isn’t the one for you.

Directed by the Guard Brothers and from the producers of The Ring and The Ring Two, it is an American psychological horror film and remake of the 2003 South Korean K-Horror film A Tale of Two Sisters. It features a girl named Anna (Emily Browning) who’s been in a psychiatric hospital for ten months from a failed suicide attempt after seeing her sickly mother being burnt alive in the boathouse close to her home, finally being released after ten months. She finally reunites with her sister only to find that her father’s new girlfriend may have had something to do with the death of their sick mother. The two sisters work together to try to keep each other safe and to try to unlock all of the hidden secrets about this new woman their father is planning to marry.

In my opinion I thought it was a good film, but I also felt that the story was poorly thought out. Nevertheless, it was an exciting film and I do, in fact, own it and would watch it again. There are some creepy things that keep you on the edge of your seat, but as the movie goes on you can tell a lot of things fail to add up. I do plan on watching the original and I do want to compare the two when I can. I do recommend this movie.
