Batman vs Superman has many things going for it. A new Caped Crusader, Wonder Woman's introduction to a new generation of fans, and of course - the start of the DCEU. With such an enormous amount of hype and anticipation surrounding the film, it only makes sense for the filmmakers to try and meet the expectations of the fans.
One of the most important elements in any superhero movie is the costume - how well can they translate a character, visually, from page to screen? Apparently very well, in the case of Batman vs Superman. Don't believe me? Have a look for yourself:
Clay Enos, the photographer for BvS, released this photo of Batman recently. Needless to say, this Batman will definitely be a different take on the character compared to Christian Bale's. We see a bulkier Dark Knight in front of a̶ ̶t̶a̶n̶k̶/̶F̶e̶r̶r̶a̶r̶i̶ ̶h̶y̶b̶r̶i̶d̶ the new Batmobile. Thiswill be the definitive version of the character, I have no doubt.
And now, some Batman concept art:
One thing that can be sensed in all the photos above is the age of Bruce Wayne. Despite the cowl covering his face in every photo, wrinkles and stubble are visible. The suit also has scratches and cuts, something that we've already seen in the trailers and other promo pieces.
Having already seen Superman in Man of Steel, this isn't much of a change. Two visible changes are a more muscular Clark Kent, along with a steelier expression. Can't take down Batman if you're laughing and smiling the whole time (unless you're Joker of course).
And finally . . .
I have one word to describe Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman: Flawless.
Her suit has colour: gold, blue, and red (muted to match the film's tone, but blue, red, and gold nonetheless).
She has four weapons of war (that we know of...): A sword, a spear, a shield, and the Lasso of Truth!
And above all: a cape!
Everyone in the Trinity will have a cape!
And of course . . .
A Brand New Look at Wonder Woman!
You should be able to see it, but if you can't:
So there you have it. Some of the most beautiful concept art I have ever seen. The colours, the art style, the design; it's all amazing.
