just announced three mystery movies (none of which are Scooby-Doo related), so of course I have to put into writing my guess as to what these movies will be! There are several quality options here such as a Doctor Strange sequel, a sequel to Black Panther, or something of that nature. However, I think there are four great options that stand above and beyond the others. I believe that a Prince Namor, The Sub-Mariner, movie should happen! He is such an underrated character and has tremendous potential to thrive on the big screen. Marvel could also consider a team-up movie, similar to their old comic series “Marvel Team-up” which was popular during the 70’s and 80’s. Some key team ups that I would want to see on the big screen are Hawkeye/Black Widow, Cloak and Dagger, and of course the Defenders. Another great superhero that is even lesser known than Prince Namor would be Nova. This would make for a great movie, because it could open up to a whole other universe! Lastly, this would be mostly new for the Marvel Cinematic Universe… a new Incredible Hulk movie… and this time with the actor who has been this character for more than a single movie! I’m looking at you Eric Bana (thankfully) and you too Edward Norton

Hulk

The Incredible Hulk / Bruce Banner
The Incredible Hulk / Bruce Banner

Hulk has had two solo movies; one was successful and the other was not so much. Marvel deserves a chance to get the Hulk doing his own thing and doing it right. With a Hulk movie, you need to have an equal balance of dialogue with Bruce and action with the Hulk. We have kind of gotten that in the Avengers movies where we get the balance that doesn’t give us too much Hulk or too much Bruce. In the Hulk movies we have gotten we got one good villain with Abomination. He was an equal adversary for Hulk being equal in strength, but he did have an advantage in that he was still fairly in control of his mind. Marvel could use a similar approach by using the Red Hulk (a.k.a. Thunderbolt Ross) as the next villain, who also has the mental advantage and a personal vendetta towards Bruce Banner. He is the perfect villain to put into a Hulk movie and would make sense since we have already seen him portrayed by William Hurt who will appear in 2016’s Civil War. Ross has what the Hulk needs to be the Hulk of the comics; control. Ross is still himself when he becomes Red Hulk controlling his actions and his words. Hulk can speak in the comics so therefore we need him to talk in the movies.

Namor

Namor / Namor McKenzie
Namor / Namor McKenzie

By adding Namor to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel would be able to bring with him another world and some attitude! For those of you who do not know Namor, he is the Prince of Atlantis in the Marvel Universe (basically an edgier Aquaman). Namor was actually created before Aquaman so Marvel has the advantage here. Prince Namor is a very powerful individual with incredible powers such as superhuman strength/stamina, the capability to fly, the ability (in certain cases) to harness the power and abilities of certain sea creatures, and so much more. Namor, The Sub-Mariner, has some attitude to go along with all of his powers and abilities as well. Unlike Captain America, who is usually calm and meticulous in his thought process, Namor is brash, hostile to land-lovers, and kind of an ass… but this is something that makes him stand out from the current group in the MCU! Under the sea (not a Little Mermaid reference) hasn’t even been touched by Marvel and this could really open up more avenues to explore. Namor has many quality villains, such as Attuma, Krang, and Tiger Shark that Marvel could make into great storylines. Prince Namor is the undisputed leader of the Atlantean race, however, there is a lot of power hungry Atlanteans that would try to overthrow Namor. Also, if Namor was brought into the MCU then this could lead to a certain team up movie… I don’t know, maybe The Defenders! (Side note I would cast Sam Worthington as Namor)

Team Up

(Left to Right) Sentry, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Spider-Woman, Captain America, Wolverine, Ronin

Marvel has some of the best superhero teams in all of comics such as the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four (hopefully Marvel can get the rights back), Guardians of the Galaxy and many more. Why not give us more team movies or groups of heroes together. There are so many other groups that would make for an amazing movie in the future. Many comic book characters have been a part of a team at one point but some have stuck to a team or a group of heroes for a long time. Ant-Man and Wasp are getting there own team movie together so lets see what other heroes can team up. One group known as the Defenders would bring in characters that have already been on the big screen or are going to here in the future. The founding members are the Hulk, Doctor Strange, and Namor and other members include Silver Surfer, Hawkeye, Moon Knight, Captain Marvel, and many more. Other heroes that should team up for a movie are Hawkeye and Black Widow and their adventures in their early years as agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. A prequel movie to elaborate on their past would make for an amazing story. Others such as Cloak and Dagger who have only ever seen an animated appearance are long past due for a live screen appearance too.

And there you have my picks for what the three mystery Marvel movies should be. A few honorable mentions would be Nova, She-Hulk, Sentry, and Excalibur. Let me know what you think Marvel is going to do with their updated roster. Comment below your thoughts and let me know that else I should write about. Stay super.
