Now, if any of you have ever played Skyrim, you will know exactly why this game should be turned into a live action movie. For those who haven't, I'm going to do my best to explain why. Ahead lie potential spoilers for the video game, so reader beware.
First, and probably the most obvious, is the dragons. Dragons have been a highly succesful feature in movies, from the Hungarian Horntail in Harry Potter and the Goblet Fire, to Smaug in The Desolation of Smaug, Dragons seem to make a lasting impact wherever they go. Both physically and metaphorically. Now, what would be more intense then seeing not only Alduin, but Paarthunax on the big screen? And then watching the two fight on the Throat of the World? That just screams blockbuster material.
2. The Civil War
Second, the civil war. The Lord of the Rings series demonstrated perfectly how well gigantic battles can play out on screen, and Skyrim has a quest line devoted to the civil war between the Imperials of Cyrodil, and the Nords of Skyrim. Throw in my first point of dragons, and we could end up watching the invasion of Whiterun on the big screen. What's more, is that it would give us a chance to see some of the brilliant armour and weaponry of the Elder Scrolls universe created in real life, and that usually means buyable replicas!
3. The Narative
Thirdly, the narative. Skyrim is known for it's massive open world, and it's compelling storyline. Put something like that in the hands of a director like Nolan, or Peter Jackson, and you could have one hell of a movie. Lets just hope they get the casting right.
