More than anyone else in the galaxy, Vin Diesel can get away with saying "I am Groot" and really mean it. But many of us worried that lending his voice to such an unforgettable role, as enviable as it is, would prevent Vin from playing any other superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Yet, Vin has been teasing us about potentially landing another role for a while, and now, in an interview with io9, he's talking more openly than ever about a different Marvel franchise:

We’ve heard a lot of talk about Marvel wanting to have me play a character that doesn’t have my voice. So my voice is used for Groot and my presence is used for the other character.

Hmmm...so it's gotta be a role that Vin could embody without using his voice, and the movie can't be a sequel or follow-up to something we've seen. In that case, it sounds like those rumors were true!

Could this be who Vin is talking about?

Vin has been rumored to be playing Black Bolt in the upcoming The Inhumans movie, and his brief comments totally support this. As the ruler of The Inhumans, Black Bolt has enhanced strength, stamina, durability, and reflexes, but what truly sets him apart is his voice.

His imposing superpowers, specifically the ability to manipulate electrons, are centered in his brain's speech center. As a result, he's trained himself to stop verbalizing sounds since speaking would result in a devastating shockwave powerful enough to raze an entire city. This means near-constant silence for the big boss.

Since Black Bolt must remain mute and Vin Diesel is prohibited from using his voice, this seems like a match made in heaven, right?

With his link to the role since even before Marvel announced an Inhumans project and these clear references to the character, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that we've already found our Black Bolt. And what a perfect choice.

Since Inhumans is scheduled to land in theaters on July 19, 2019, it's only a matter of time before this casting news is made official. In my opinion, there's always room for more Diesel on the MCU train.
